Ugh, this story breaks my heart and makes me sick to my stomach thinking about it. 
I can't imagine something like this happening. I have no idea how I would make it through something like that. So sad for the parents as well as the teachers in that room when it happened. I am sure they are beside themselves right now too.
My prayers go out to all of them.

ugh, I am sure the teachers are sick over this. Honestly, I am surprised that daycares serve that kind of food knowing what a choking hazard they are

I can't stop thinking about this...on my daughter's menu today is carrots. I actually called daycare (which I never-ever do) to see if she was ok. I think they probably got alot of those calls today because the receptionist didn't seem phased. I am going to give my girl a BIG HUG when I see her tonight. I can't even imagine the pain and shock the parents are going through

OMG...that is just heartbreaking. I cannot imagine being a parent and getting that phone call. I am just sick over this.
How do you move on from this? I know I would not be strong enough. And having been a pre-k teacher myself, I cant even imagine how the teachers feel.
Oh stories like this just make me so depressed

Just so everyone knows at carousel kids bring their own lunch. This girl might have had the carrots in her lunch or they might have been given as a snack?

I know-I would die if my daughter died anywhere-in my care or daycare or with family. So horrible.
same here. I don't know how parents deal with the death of a child.

OMG how tragic for everyone invloved. I would be ready for Bellevue if anything like that ever happened.
This is one time where i am glad DD won't eat carrots
for the family and the teachers in the room

One big rule in my house is: NO running around with food especially if anyone is eating things like carrots, raisins etc. You MUST sit at the table and chew and I watch them while they eat!!!
This is exactly why!
I can't even comprehend what the parents of this little girl are going through!

I have lost a child. Before I lost him I too said "I would die if I lost a child". But thats just not true for most people, I know some parents never get passed it and never can move on. There are days you feel like you can't get out of bed, but then life happens. What else can you do but 'move on'?
Its been almost 4 years since I lost my son, not a day goes by that I don't think of him, or really even talk to him (yes I am crazy, I talk to him all day long ). While I use to feel guilty for even saying this, I am happy. Of course life would be more happy if he were alive but thats not the cards I was dealt.
I know personlly (and for others mothers mourning a child) hearing people say "I would never survive this, they are stronger than I could ever be" actually hurts the mourning parent. It makes us feel gulity that we can actually be happay again I am not trying to start drama, just letting everyone see it from a mourning parents eye

I am so sorry for your loss.
I have been contemplating writing a response like this, I know 2 people who lost their children and they have said the same thing. You have to start to move on again.....especially those who have other children. And even those who don't. You have suffered the most terrible of tragedies, but you still deserve to be happy.
My thought and prayers are witht he family of that little girl.

I have been upset about this all day long. I can't imagine what all involved are going through.
We went into every classroom today and threw away all carrots.

This is quite possibly the worst thing I can ever imagine happening to the child, the parents, the teacher, and the other children who saw this. I am devastated.
