ok...so how bad IS it to have a hot dog when pg?
cause ive been craving one but heard its bad when you're pg. is it okay to have just ONE? please say yes!

If it is than I'm bad! They (whomever "they" are) say that you should try to avoid nitrates (ie. hotdogs, cold cuts, processed foods) but many people eat lots of those foods and do fine. Don't binge on hotdogs for the rest of your pregnancy but a hotdog here and there should be fine.
The one I had so far was from Price Club and it was gigantic! And the baby liked it!

i have them just about once or twice a week. they're one of the things i can eat on my GD diet....so since i'm SO limited - i eat them.
my rule of thumb - get the ones that are NO FILLERS - so Hebrew National or Oscar Mayer (but i haven't tried the mayer ones yet)....
i know Wegmans carries Nitrate Free ones - but we haven't tried them yet....

everything in moderation. as long as its cooked well, it should be fine once in a while.
although if you have heartburn like i do..hotdogs are not your friend..LOL

I was just told at my birthing class that you should only have 3 during your whole pregnancy which i found interesting. I am not one to follow all these crazy rules because I think moderation is the best option.

It's the nitrates that Dr.'s are concerned with but anything in moderation is fine. Eat a good quality h/d cooked well and your good

OMG, I must be a horrid pregnant lady. I love hot dogs but even more so, bacon. I've been craving BLTs and it's right up there with the nitrates stuff. Everything in moderation is fine, just make sure it's cooked through well.
I swear I always though that you can eat whatever the heck you wanted when you are pregnant but I feel more restricted than ever now that I am, lol. The other day I nearly broke down because I couldn't have blue cheese crumbles on my salad.  I can't wait until I can have blue cheese *anything* again!

as long as it's pasteurized, you're fine. eat the blue cheese!

I haven't had a Hot Dog yet (b/c I normally don't eat them in the winter) but I eat Bacon all of the time!! Ok, not all of the time maybe once every 1-2 weeks.

I've also had some kielbasa...so freaking good
I think in moderation its fine

My Dr said not to eat dirty water dogs, or the ones you find in places like 7-11, but freshly cooked are fine. I'm going with that! I can't go all summer without a hot-dog!
