Let's talk inflatable pools!
The cheap ones.
Does anyone have one? Is it worth it? This is not meant to least 20 years of course.
I saw one that is 16' x 42" and I may buy it so DS can have some fun this Summer.
Any pros or cons?

I was contemplating getting one last year, but I didn't. I was too worried about one my kids getting into it and drowning. I read you must have a pool alarm and a fence around them, even though they are inflatable (in case you didn't know that).

Is that for Suffolk or Nassau? My all backyard is fenced and locked.

Honestly, I've owned one and I think it was a complete waist of money.
It was the largest size that Intex made and the pump that came with it was not strong enough to filter the water.
I have known of at least four other people to own one (all different sizes)since then and they have all said the same. The water will not stay clear no matter how many chemicals you put in it.
Everyone I have known to own one has thrown it out after the first year and purchase a better quality above ground pool.
I would definitely not spend the money.

Last summer I wanted to get this $39 blow up pool that was like 72"x102" just to cool off! I never did and I think this summer I'm going to break down and get it!!!
My friend has not an inflatable but a kind of plastic frame one with very thin sides that doesn't look like much but when you fill it, looks like a pool with a small filter and ladder. They really love it... for what it is. Nice simple inexpensive way to see if you want to invest in a permanant pool. It's not huge but it's not small. Like maybe 16' circle.

if your talking about one of those intex pools it depends. those pools that you inflate the rings then fill and it rises....i have to tell you they collapse very easily when leaned on--like by small children and they fall in. the floor of the pool tends to be slippery so big chance of them freaking out and drowning. other than this, no leaking problems, or water tipping out or collapsing on it's own. i would get a larger filter for it then the one it comes with. and also probably give it away at the end of the season or sell it them b/c it is time consuming deflating it, emptying water, drying it, then storing it properly.

I had one and it was a waste of money!! The pump wasn't strong enough and the chemical thing was sooo annoying. The pool was always so dirty and it ruined our grass underneath it.
Oh and you have to make sure the ground is completely level. We had to redo it 3 times

We got one the spring of last year and it did not last a month. it was cheap and collasped all the time. It also would not stay clean with the filter and was quite slimy. I felt I wasted more money filling it than buying it. We decided then and there to invest and get a permanent 18' round pool. It is easier to maintain and clean then the inflatables.
