I don't notice it a lot, but did notice the condom broke thread today and thought that was a little TMI

Who is anyone to judge what anyone else posts on here. If you find it TMI or whatever, than don't resond. IDK, I just feel that who is anyone to judge? This is an open forum and people can post what they like, whether it be for advice, sharing good or bad info, etc... JMHO

hah? I am confused. I am sorry, but where did I or anyone judge anyone on this thread? I didn't point out which threads/posts I was talking about and I am not going to even though few people are curious and have asked me to . It was just something I observed and wanted to get opinions on it . How is that judging anyone? It's not like I pointed fingers at anyone or anything
I always avoid drama on here and I don't like it when people try to start one or turn an innocent post into a drama. That was not my intention.

Yes, but that's on the relationship board. That's were all the , and stuff goes. It's where people talk about anal sex, and blow jobs. If the flower girls are reading the relationship board, then they should be monitored by their parents, IMO.

I think there are certain boards that are meant to share more, I am on the Infertility Board the most. We share ALOT, but it's the nature of the board. You can share whatever's comfortable with you, but if it's appropriate to the board, I think it's ok.

If I think a thread is TMI, I close it and move on.

What gets my goat is when details are posted about, say, a fight with a boss or sister or a cousin or whatever... Then that boss/sister/cousin finds the post... And the poster tries to blame them and calls them a stalker! It's all about personal responsibility. If you put information out there and it comes back to bite you in the @ss - your fault. Period.

And if you put information out there and a few (or many) of the hundreds of people who read this board every day have a low opinion of it, so be it. Gotta expect that not everyone is going to love you for it. There is a difference between opinions and judgments and that's something I wish people would consider before throwing the "don't judge" out there.

Having an opinion about one thread or post does not always have to mean that person is unlikable, to me at least. I can think of one person in particular who posted something that I would never share myself, or join in a discussion of. Regardless, she's a pretty awesome person and that doesn't change how much I like her.

I can live without all the mucous updates.

But it doesn't bother me when someone posts "tmi" - it's totally subjective anyway so it's up to the POSTER to decide if it's within their comfort threshhold.

I KNOW I post a lot of personal information.

Oddly, I find it easier to share that information online then I do in real life.

It helps me.

I've sometimes thought about how I would feel if someone I knew came across the stuff I write, but the benefit for me far outweighs the risks.

Usually if it's venturing into a territory that would make people uncomfortable by reading it, I place a TMI in the title or beginning so they can choose to stop reading.

ITA. I share ALMOST everything on here, I really don't care. If someone from IRL found out I would be embarassed but its nothing "too personal" really.

However, one of my best friends does NOTHING on the internet. I was hysterical bc I saw her Mii on Wii and she gave it a different name and she didn't make it look like her "just in case I ever play online"

I think b/c such rapport is built between people on this board, and many have met face to face, it is very easy to forget that it is very public and open to everyone.

I think the more you become involved in the "family" of LIF, the line is further blurred.

I try to keep my overshare to things that are personal ONLY to me...that don't involve my husband or my family too much, if at all.

but it's not easy to be On Guard all the time, especially when you are moved to reach out to others in times of need, be it their need or yours.

I don't like threads like these b/c it could (and no doubt will) make people feel self conscious, and it is just a way to openly talk about others behind their back, which is another thing I cannot stand.

and I really think we could have refrained from calling anyone out. that is just not cool, regardless of what you think of the subject matter.
