It is floating on its own. The current is really strong.
Really? I thought I heard them say the boats around it were towing it

Nope, I was right! The current is taking it. It has gone 4 miles on its own. They are trying to secure it so it doesn't go anymore.

What a miracle for everyone to survive. I cannot imagine how scary it must have been to hear the pilot say "brace for impact"

News conference - Bloomberg says the pilot walked the plane TWICE after all passengers got out to make sure no other passengers were left. 
There was one infant on board - I cant even imagine being that mother.
God bless the pilot and crew for getting everyone out safely

AMAZING ALL I CAN SAY IS AMAZING!!! I just watched a story of how the flight went and the course and he(the pilot) HIT NOTHING!!

Saw on ABC news that the pilot has over 40 years experience. 1/2 that as a commercial and the other 1/2 in the Air Force. The pilots were amazing!

i work for a news wire firm and i saw so many people go outside. i didn't realize what was happening until i went to look. we're all amazed what happened. that pilot is such a hero. the news is saying before the pilot left the plane, u walked up and down the aisle to make sure everyone made it out safely

Update: My friend is at Charlotte Douglas Int'l picking up her bf...from a different flight. The individuals who were not admitted to the hospital will be arriving in Charlotte within the hour. The place is filled with local and cable news networks. Kudos to them for getting right back on a plane!

It truly is a miracle! Imagine earlier in the day they are in a plane crash and seemingly hours later on another plane and arriving in their destination!

This happened pretty close to where I live, and I didn't even hear anything until I saw it on TV! What a miracle that these people survived and everyone was OK. I used to take this flight all the time on USair when I went to school in NC, scary.
A pilot called in from a different place to channel 4, and was saying that since the plane left from runway 4 he was flying over the water, but any other runway he would have been over land in NJ and the outcome could have been much different. It seems the angels were here looking after all these people!

this is like what happened to my aunt-she went to columbia to adopt a little girl YEARS back-and the plane she was supposed to get one to come home, crashed. we all thought she died, until we got a call that she went on a later flight.

I really cannot, just cannot imagine the fear that these people went through. Each of them on the news keep saying, I was expecting a big impact & a big explosion to kill me and it didn't...
I am just so thankful that they are all ok.

Seriously, how AMAZING was the pilot of that plane to make a landing like that over NYC! In frigid water and no fatalities. I couldn't even grasp it when I read it on the internet this afternoon until got home and saw the news coverage. Very happy everyone was safe!
