31 week appointment

I am measuring a week ahead and when he saw on the chart that my DD was only 6pd 10 oz he starting laughing. He said this baby would be around 8 pds or more! He then gave me lots of reasons why- older mom, could be a boy but we don't know , not diabetes since my glucose numbers were very low so he ruled that out.

Overall, we were both kind of shocked- I knew I was huge but now the thought of delievering an 8pd + baby! Will I ever be the same down there

On the plus side, I have only gained 22 pds- 8 pds less than I did with my DD at this time

Hi Christine,

Although I can't sympathize with you since I am only 8w, I can tell you that my mom had me (8lbs 3oz) and my sister (7lbs 11oz) and she lived! I can imagine that you must be scared but try to hang in there and think happy (and lightweight) thought! Best of luck to you in having a quick and painless delivery!!
