Anyonetest positive for Strep B?
SIL just tested positive for it and is freaking out. Anyone have experience with this? They told her she would be on antibiotic during labor/delivery, but she is still scared
TIA

Yes I did and there is nothing to be scared about. She just has to have a drip during labor which limits moving around so much and I think if she goes into labor naturally they want you at the hospital before or immediately after your water breaks. In the grand scheme of things this is definitely not something to worry about imo.

Re: Anyonetest positive for Strep B?
while i have never tested positive for it (yet - this is my first pregnancy), my doctor did tell us all about it. When she explained it - she did tell us that it's a very 'standard' test and that many women test positive for it.
the antibiotic is a protective measure for the baby! it's a good thing that they caught it and she'll be just fine!

I tested positive for it...and though it shouldn't have mattered for me since I'm having a c-section, they also found that the bacterial infection I had around the c-section site was Strep B as well My OB told me that they'll just need to start antibiotics in my IV the day of the delivery and that it's actually pretty common.

I did...I think 40% of women test positive for it. It was no big deal. Antibiotics in the iv, and thats it!
