May I ask you, where did you order it from? This is exactly what I want for Christmas, but I'm worried to order from some of the places online that have great prices. My reasoning is what if something goes wrong with it, how do you get it repaired?
Also, which accessories did you wind up getting (lenses, flash, etc.)

I ordered through ebates at Abes of Maine.
They have it for $446 but when you add it to your cart, the price drops to $401.
Then I used code LOYALTY10 for $10 off $75 or more.
It's the D40 with the 18-55 mm lens. They are giving me a free 4 GB memory card also.
Free shipping and Ebates gives me 1% cash back

Trish....we got ours last year from ritzcamera.com for an awesome deal that included the camera, 2 lenses: 18-55 mm and 55-200 mm, and a carrying case. I added on a 2 pk of filters and a memory card for $650ish
