Rock Band or Guitar Hero for Wii?
I want to buy one for DH for Christmas, but they both seem to be similar and I'm struggling with which one to get.
I need advice. Which is better and why?!!

Personally, i like the guitars that come with Guitar Hero better than the one's with Rock Band. I feel like they're a little easier to use.
They're both pretty cool though!

Guitar Hero = Just Guitars
Rock Band = Guitars, Drums, Vocals
So if you plan on having a group of people over to play, Rock Band would be good.
Just you and DH then Guitar Hero.

Guitar Hero now has a Rock Band like game as well...it's called Guitar Hero World Tour.
I hope the Rock Band/Fully Loaded instruments are compatible!! We would love to get Fully Loaded but don't want to buy all of those instruments again!
edited - the title is world tour, not fully loaded. Stupid KFC commercial.

I have both for my PS3 and honestly its a tossup....both have their pros and cons.
The new Guitar Hero World Tour drum kit is really great, and I like it better than the drums for Rock Band. Also, like another poster said, the guitars for Guitar Hero are (IMO - and I play the guitars on these games alot) easier to use.
However, the song list for Rock Band 2 is simply amazing. They carry a catalogue that will reach 500 songs by the end of the holiday 2008 season. The "tour" on Rock Band is much more fun than on Guitar Hero as well. In GH World Tour you just play thru the sets and thats it...in Rockband you have to play for a bus, van, plane, etc.
I think if your DH really loves rock music---and would be interested in DL-ing more songs for the game, Rock Band 2 could be a great choice. (The drums for RB1 are a bit loud when you hit them--they improved this in RB2.) Don't get me wrong, you CAN download music in GH World Tour--but as of right now, its not nearly as much as RB2
But if you don't think that will be the case-- Guitar Hero World Tour could be a good choice--cause I personally love the gameplay more on that game, its smoother to me.

You need to look at the matrix to figure it out - the compatability is different based upon the platform.

Forgot to post my opinion.  I like Guitar Hero better, it seems more difficult than Rock Band. The general consensus is the same on the net that gameplay is better for Guitar Hero.
I'd rather have the challenge than be done with the game in 2 days.

I care more about the music than about game play, so I chose Rock Band. I think the catalog is way more diverse and interesting.

I prefer Rock Band because the downloadable content for Rock Band is significantly better than Guitar Hero.
Rock Band puts out new music EVERY WEEK to download (of course for a small fee). Their downloadable library is huge and way better than Guitar Hero's.

I agree that Guitar Hero seems more challenging, which is fun. But I like Rock Band for the song selection. I haven't seen a track list for Rock Band World Tour yet, though....
