New to Clomid...
I posted this on TTC - Infertility - but didn't get many responses... Just hoping to see what the ladies here have to say.
I will be starting my first round of Clomid with IUI and I am apprehensive as to what to expect with the hormones and the IUI... If you wouldn't mind, could you please tell me about your experiences with Clomid and IUI (not necessarily as a combo-treatment)?
What are the side effects - if any - to the Clomid treatments?
Also, has anyone has an IUI before - what should I expect? (in terms of discomfort, pain, recoop - if any is necessary)

Re: New to Clomid...
As far as the IUI, I felt absolutely NO pain, it was done in 30 seconds and there was no need to recooperate. No discomfort whatsoever.
Everyone is different, though. The worst part for me was the speculum.
And for the Clomid, I had awful side effects from it including dizziness, hot flashes, night sweats, trouble sleeping- and MAJOR mood swings. I stopped after one round because I couldn't take it.
Many people have no side effects from it, though.

Re: New to Clomid...
I've never been on Clomid - but I know Conigs25 was and she had a similar reaction to JennyPenny's.
I'll be having my IUI later this week - so I can let you know how that goes! The RE said it's as quick as a pap basically!
Just as an FYI... I'm on injectables now and don't have any side effects from those (in case you may need to do those in the future).

Re: New to Clomid...
I did 50mg of Clomid last week and was fine, no side effects.
My first IUI should be around Fri/Sat/Sun, just monitoring for now.

Re: New to Clomid...
I did 2 clomid cycles and had no side effects. The IUI was painless, although some find the speculum a bit uncomfortable.
I went to work afterwards.
Good luck!
