Baby announcements
Photo or no photo?
I really like some of the photo ones, but I hate to think of people throwing them away

i will be honest....
i have thrown away baby announcements in the past, but NEVER ones with a photo...those go into the box with all my other 'keeper cards'...

i honestly think do what YOU want - let people do what they will....those that are sentimentals will keep them and those that aren't won't....not much you can do about them...
You could also do a regular card with no pic and insert a photo - a small wallet size one...

Do what you want to do, who cares what other people do once they get them? But I do understand you not wanting your baby's picture with your names printed on it thrown in the garbage. Over the past couple of weeks, I've gotten one of each from friends. I personally don't through those things away though. Chances are I'll do a photo announcement as my step-father is a photographer and will do them up for me.

I like photo ones, but I am extremely superstitious and do not send pics if my DC is looking directly at the camera
I do always keep the photo cards I get from others too

I personally LOVE photo birth announcements- I keep them all and for some family members or friends that may not be able to get to see the baby for some time for whatever reason, it definately puts a little face to their name...You could always do a wallet pic, with an insert card, maybe people who generally don';t keep the announcements would be inclined to keep a wallet pic ?

We did photo magnets so that people could stick them on the fridge. we figured that they would last a little longer that way.
Also, the people who count are the ones who will keep them anyway!
