In several of the voting options, the same candidate is listed under several parties. Do you ever pick the smaller party, just to give them a little acknowledgment?

I'll do that a lot. If a candidate is listed under every party, or at least several, I'll give a nod to the party that isn't Dem or Rep.

I know that it doesn't mean much as far as who gets elected, but I figure that if 3rd/4th/... parties get some credit, we may eventually have more than a 2 party game.

Wow, I have always noticed that but have never done it. I am going to vote now and will have to try that!

I always do. If my candidate is running under a third-party ticket I always choose that one instead of dem or rep.

If they get enough of the vote they'll get federal funding!

This morning, I pulled the lever on the "Working Families" line rather than on the Democratic line. It does not affect my vote but it gives this alternate party some credit.

yes, i've often voted for a candidate if they were also on the Right-to-Life Party or the Working Families party.

I will only do that if it's a party I can also support. By way of example ONLY and not personal experience or preference, if a Republican candidate was nominated on the Right to Life ticket, I probably would vote Row B. If, however, the Republican candidate was on the Libertarian ticket, I might vote Libertarian. I know I'm voting for the same person, but it makes a difference to me which parties I align myself with as well.

Again, this was for example purposes only.
