Amnio question

Having an amnio next week and im a little nervous about the process. Im thinking about taking the next day off to stay off my feet (im already off the day of since its veteran's day). Does that seem right- or am I just being silly? BTW- im a teacher and on my feet all day!

Re: Amnio question

dr. who performed my amnio told me i could go about business as usual (he also told my OB that, and she delivers babies for a living!), but my OB disagreed. she told me to go home, put legs up and read a book the day of. afterward, she said one can take it a little easy, but there's no reason to be bed bound for any long period of time...

i followed her guidelines and felt fine. i have friends who mentioned slight cramping, i felt not a thing.

good luck, it's stressful!

Re: Amnio question

I had cramping for the rest of the day and chose to take the next 2 days off. I'm glad I did, there was no way I elt ready to be "normal" for a day or two.

Re: Amnio question

I completely stayed off my feet from the time I came home from my Amnio through the next day. Some Drs. will say it's not necessary, but I wasn't taking any chances with anything.

Re: Amnio question

I wasnt expecting to be uncomfy after it and I was. I didnt want to do anything but lay down the rest of the day. The next day as well I really took it easy. I would def. take the next day off.
