Did you feel more tired as your pregnancy progressed?
Recently I've been feeling very tired.
Previously I spent a lot of time in bed because I felt sick, which made me feel groggy, not necessarily tired.

Re: Did you feel more tired as your pregnancy progressed?
i don't know about anyone else - but i AM NO LONGER CAPABLE of sleeping late and it's KILLING ME....
i'm a night person and dave & i go to bed at like 1 or 2 in the morning normally (he doesn't get out of work until 9 - so that's really our only time together)...and i've been waking up before the alarm... EVEN ON THE WEEKENDS...
it's making me crazy!

Jess, that should subside. I had horrible insomina in the beginning, but then somewhere around week 8ish, I was so exhausted all of the time, it was awful.
To the OP: I am much better during my 2nd trimester (actually, I'm nearing the end of the 2nd tri), but I still have days here and there that I'm beyond tired. But for the most part, I have a decent amount of energy.

Unfortunately, this hasn't subsided for me. Since the very beginning, I've been waking up in the middle of the night and am usually up for several hours. I can't remember the last time I had an uninterrupted night of sleep. I also wake up pretty early now. I'm 31 weeks and have no expectations of sleeping well for a very long time.
I've been handling the lack of sleep relatively well. I was exhausted during the 1st trimester and part of the 2nd trimester. I still have days where I'm really tired, but my energy definitely returned during the 2nd trimester.

Re: Did you feel more tired as your pregnancy progressed?
In the beginning (first trimester) I had terrible exhaustation throughout the day, and also horrible insomnia. I'd pass out early-very early, and in a deep sleep. But I'd wake up somewhere between 2 and 4 and not be able to go back to sleep for hours. I also couldn't sleep late at all. Even on the weekends I was up very very early.
Second trimester--I was fine. I was pretty much normal with my level of energy throughout the second tri.
Since 31 weeks, the exhausation and insomnia are coming back. Maybe not quite as bad as the first tri, but pretty close. Also, in the first tri, the exhausation was pretty random--it would hit no matter what. Now, it's like I get tired and worn out much more easily. I get physically drained from a little activity.

Re: Did you feel more tired as your pregnancy progressed?
First trimester tiredness is the norm. You get your energy back the 2nd tri (I feel the best I've felt now). Then I hear the exhaustion kicks in again during the 3rd combined with being large and uncomfortable all the time.
Right now I'm enjoying my energy while it lasts.

I am exhausted! But I work full time, and have a 21 month old so its understandable.

totally the same thing with me right now..first tri I couldn't sleep and was just always exhausted, from not doing anything or everything...now in my third tri, I just get tired from doing some activity, not like in the first tri where I would just get knocked over like a ton of bricks....

Re: Did you feel more tired as your pregnancy progressed?
all i wanted to do during the 1st tri was sleep.
as the 2nd tri has settled in i find myself with a little bit more energy.
HOWEVER, now I cant sleep past 730am no matter what time i go to bed and i am up in the middle of the night at least once, for a min of 30 mins.

Re: Did you feel more tired as your pregnancy progressed?
I have a bit more energy in the 2nd tri, but I def wake up 3-4 times a night and it takes me forever to go back to sleep, so I may be tired from that, but I get very tired easily from doing my normal day to day routine...

Re: Did you feel more tired as your pregnancy progressed?
You should feel extremelly tired in the 1st trimester then you get a little more energy in 2nd and beginning of 3rd trimester then you get tired again at the end. Then you just can't wait for the baby to come out.

Re: Did you feel more tired as your pregnancy progressed?
1st tri i was exhausted (was taking naps with DD#1 all the time).
2nd tri got my energy back.
3rd tri i feel like a beached whale and am back to being tired. not spent like in the 1st tri, but uncomfortable and cranky due to size and lack of sleep (tossing and turning every couple hours at night).

Re: Did you feel more tired as your pregnancy progressed?
1st Trimester was utterly exhausting.
2nd trimester I suffered from terrible insomnia.
3rd trimester is a mixed bag. Exhausted, still have insomnia.

Me to!! I am almost 31 1/2 weeks and I am exhausted all the time! I am not sleeping great anymore, which doesn't help...but during my 1st tri I had such insomnia!! I memorized the nighttime TV schedule!

Re: Did you feel more tired as your pregnancy progressed?
I am 13 weeks and still pretty tired. In the past week I had 2 days of more energy and I hope that's a sign of things to come in the 2nd tri.
