Re: cord banking who and why
CBR - their customer service was SO much better than the other companies I researched and I also liked the fact that they bank their blood in an area that was safer than the other companies. Viacord is banked in a flood zone, CBR is in a desert. Call both companies (they are the most popular two) just to get a feel of who you think is better

same here. After researching all the companies, this is the company I felt the most comfortable with.

Re: cord banking who and why
I actually went with Lifeline Cryogenics. They are based in CT. CBR was harassing me with phone calls to sign up. I really didnt like that. Also LIfeline was like half the price of CBR. and their monthly payment was lower. They have been around for 20 years. They work closely with the Dr. from Duke who pretty much commanded cord blood banking and transplants. I spoke to them and asked a bunch of questions and they made me feel very confident. Since my due date was so close the Medical Director actually came to my job and dropped of the kit for me!! Also, they said that it really isnt good to have the blood put on a plane (CBR) with the pressurization and everything. Also, I didn't like the idea of CBR being in Arizona and having to be flown in in case you need it. What if there is a blizzard in NY and they can't fly in. FM me for more info!!!
