how far apart is DC 1 and 2? DD is 7 months old and people are tellingme to start soon you dont want them to far apart honestly right now i dont another one i just started classes again to do a career change and i dont want to deal with two kids and all that i rather wait 2 more years till im done with school im so tired of hearing thats stupid do it now get it over with. i want to be able to enjoy my children not always be stressed out with school and other worries. the point of this long post is if you have children 2-3 yrs spaced out do you regret it?

Re: baby #2

Do not listen to people and feel pressured. YOU need to be ready. If I was a bit younger, I would wait 2-3 years between children. We are TTCing. DS is 15 months.

Re: baby #2

im prego with #2 now, and they will be 17months apart.. best advice is to do what you want, dont let others dictate to you when to have your children. Do what you feel is best for your family and not what others want. Chat Icon

My DS is 20 months and we are now TTC. Don't let anyone pressure you. You and DH do what you are comfortable with.
I originally wanted 2 Under 2, but, we held off and I am kind of glad we did.
I also babysit and it would have been tough.
If I am lucky enough to get a BFP soon, then DS will be 2.5 or so when the new baby arrives.

Mine are a few weeks less than 2 years apart. You need to do what is best for you. I did it with the thought that I am working P/T until they get a little older and eventually want to get back to my career F/T. If school is in your plan, you should wait until you are ready.

Re: baby #2

I hate the advice to have another one to "get it over with". As if having children are a necessary burden! My daughter is 2 now and still no immediate plans to TTC. I've enjoyed every moment of DD and I have no problems getting back into baby mode whenever #2 arrives. And honestly having them close together makes no guarantee that they'll be the best of friends.

Re: baby #2

ok so my kids are all 3.5 years apart.. all 4 of them.. lol and i LOVE it!! they are so close.. like best friends so don't let people tell you they can't be.. it was nice for me too to be able to spend my time with each baby till they go to preschool. i never had two in diapers either which was nice.. by the time i had another my others were pretty self sufficient in alot of ways.. i think that was why i was able to have so many kids lol.

Don't do it until you feel ready. Andrew and the Baby will be 4 months shy of 3 yrs apart.

Re: baby #2

DS and future DC will be 22 months apart

I got preggo right away after we stopped using protection so I am happy--but I also would have been happy if it didnt happen RIGHT away and they were at least less than 3 years apart

Re: baby #2

My kids are 12 months apart - Jack was a "surprise". We had no intention of TTC but apparently someone upstairs had a different plan Chat Icon

I think there are pros and cons - for me I know I'm done - each phase that passes (potty training, CIO, etc) are done back to back so once its over, its over.

My kids are extremely close - they are literally best friends but I think its b/c they don't know any other way, they don't remember the other not being there.

Cons - I wish I had them spaced a bit more so I could have enjoyed the stages a bit more. Jack had severe colic so I feel like I missed out on a lot of Ava from 12-19 months.

I think about having a 3rd and then I realize that I'm nuts and DH and I are finally in a place where everything is smooth and we're happy with our family.
