shower question
If you had the chose of knowing when your shower was would you want to know or would you rather be surprised? My mom and MIL are throwing me my shower and my mother told me if I wanted to know when it was she'd tell me. Not sure what to do... I kinda wanna know, but I'm not sure.

I definitely want to know. Then again, I also wanted to know when my bridal shower was, they didn't tell me but I found out. But this time, straight up I want no surprises. I need to be mentally/physically prepared to be smiley and "entertain" all afternoon.

depends on you.. are you the type who likes to make sure your dressed up for these kinda events and hate surprises.. or are you the type who loves surprises and dont mind looking a bit of a mess at them.. I say do the surprise thing just b/c you only get a couple of surprises in life.

I would prefer to know. They can keep all the other details a suprise, but just tell me what day it is so I can mentally prepare.

they left the option up to me for DD and we deiced that i should know about a week before. that way i didnt know the whole time and i was excited that it was just around the corner.

I requested the date of my shower, so I knew when it was. It was the only weekend my mom would be up from SC, so that part wasn't a surprise. I think it is easier to know...you can greet guests as they arrive and you know to get dressed up.

my bridal shower was a surprise shower but i pretty much figured out when it was...
for the baby shower i told everyone that i want to know..
now that i know i am so excited!! now i can pick out an outfit and look cute!!
and they dont have to go through the whole charades of throwing me off or coming up with crazy stories to get me to the restuarant.. when i am only going to have strong suspicions.. so, just tell me and I'll be there with my party dress!

thanks honeybunny....I'm starting to learn towards knowing cause I have a best friend who will probably fly in from S.C. and if she comes in early, I would want to be able to hang out with her.

I decided to find out. It was stressful being "surprised" for my bridal shower, especially when I figured out when it was. I don't know the place, theme, any of the details, but knowing the date I feel a lot better. My parents also live on LI and I live in CT and don't get there super often, so knew it would be nearly impossible for me to be surprised.

My mom is throwing my shower and I actually do want to know when it is, but not until a week or a few days before. I want to be sure that I have something cute to wear
And if i find out a few days before I will be really excited!
But I do want the place to be a surprise, so my DH may blindfold me when he is driving me there!
