So we're on the cusp of TTCing for Baby #2 and . . .

I think I am scared!

Not of being PG. Not of labor (or another c/s).

But of having another child here to care for. I have "bad" days (who doesn't) and it scares the crap out of me that I won't be able to handle it with 2 kids!

And DH wants to have 3 or 4 kids (total).

Is this normal? Is there any way to get passed it?

I hear ya! I am on WW and trying to lose 20 lbs before we TTC again in December. I dont really have to lose the 20 lbs before TTC again, but I think I need a couple of months to get me mentally prepared

Yes, of course it's normal. I would just say to myself, "Everyone does it and I can do it too!" Seriously, most people who have 1 kid, typically go on to have more. And trust me, going from none to 1 (IMO) is A LOT harder than going from 1 to 2...seriously!!

How funny that you posted this. I was thinking tonight about you thought I remembered that you wanted to start trying for #2. I even checked your profile figuring maybe I missed your annoucement.

I know what you are feeling though. I have an 8 year old boy and my DD is 19 1\2 months. We are thinking about having #3. I keep going back and forth. I don't know if I am ready either. It scares me when I have bad days too. What if I can't handle it. Am I short changing my other children. So don't feel bad I think it's a normal reaction.

I am also using the same excuse as jellybean. I want to lost about 7 pounds before getting pregnant. I'm trying but I just don't have it in me.

I also look at my mom, who had 2 kids- she survived.

And my MIL who had 3 kids (DH and his sister are 10 1/2 mos apart). Not only that, but she moved to the US from Argentina when DH was 8 mos old and she was 9 mos PG!!

I just hope I have the strength.

I was wondering if you'd see this, and how you feeling about it!

I also forgot to mention that my BFF in VA who had difficulties conceiving for 10 yrs, suffered numerous MCs, last being a MC 10 wks after her 1st IVF (which was 1 mo before my wedding), she got PG (naturally) and had her DD june 2007 and got PG 5 MOS later, again naturally.

ALL the while she is caring (solely) for her mother who is battling lung cancer.

If she (amongst all the others I/we know) can do, so can I.

DH and I would like to start TTC'ing in January-we want our kids close together. I know how you feel, I always think about if I can handle more than 1. I think it's natural to feel that way though-good luck!!

You might want to hold off TTC for a few more months. It is not that long and you might feel more confident. I don't think anyone is ever "perfectly ready" and what you are feeling is very common. HUGS. I know the stress well.

I was the same way and now that I am 20 weeks I am just now starting to enjoy this PG and realize that this is a great thing we are doing for Andrew.

We are going to give him a little brother or sister to play with for life The beg will be hard but then you will look at the 2 of them playing and all the bad times will disappear.
