those attacks are SO scary. We had to call 911 once on Emily and it was the worst moment of our lives
Emily is now on pulmicort once a day as a preventive and I agree, it has done a WORLD of good. It's a PITA at first with the neb, but you get used to it. It's better peace of mind too knowing they are safer.
For emergencies I have xopenex and have found that to always work really well for fast attacks - not sure about albuterol but I know that's what I have for my asthma attacks.
If you don't already have a pulmonary group, fm me, I highly recommend the group I see in Mineola.

's - DD1 has asthma. She does well with preventive medicine (for her it's Singulair). We tried pulmincort and it did nothing for her. We use Albuterol as a rescue medicine.

i agree with the above poster - if he's not on a preventative medicine, i think it may be time to consider it - jmo.

thanks everyone...he will be on a daily steriod, we are going to try that for a few months....once his oral ones are finished then he will get a night treatment with them.
