I find her a bit over the top, a little too smiley and so energetic she seems nervous. I think if I were one of her guests I'd end up smacking her, just so I could get a word in!
I haven't noticed an accent - but I also haven't seen her show in a while so if it's new I probably just missed it. Could it be just that she is from Upstate? She is from Glens Falls, about 35 minutes north of me, and the Upstate accent is very different from LI.

some days im on the fence with her. I love her and some days she annoys me a bit. and as great as her recipes are sometimes i feel like all she does is come up with 20 variations of the same dish. like she has 10 different recipes for sloppy joes.. she just takes one recipe and changes a few things around..

she's actually from Lake Luzerne, we live a few minutes away from her mom....and she's still a jerk, everyone there can't stand her.....she' such a phony....

I rarely watch her show but the few times I have I can only stomach a few minutes of her. I am constantly  at everything she says.
She is so annoying and fake. I want to slap her.
I do however love her cookbooks.

Do a search using "verdant flavor" on google. She didn't use it incorrectly... it means a clean simple flavor. As for her, I'm not a fan or non-fan but I saw her biography on TV and was impressed with her rise of fame.

Yes, but if you google the term "verdant flavor", you will see it used quite often on foodie sites so in that sense it is an accepted term in her industry. I don't really care either way - I won't be adding it to my daily verbiage any day soon - but she wasn't so out to lunch on the use of the word is all I'm saying.

I would also like to add in the letter just because she is Rachel Ray does not give her the right to cut lines at the airport. DH had the pleasure of escorting her out of Fort Myers Airport because she was rude and demanded to cut the security line because she was screened already howeve left a secure location and had to be rescreened. She didnt like that rule so DH said then dont fly here and had the pleasure of escorting her out to a supervisor

I liked her so much better in the old episodes of 30 Minute Meals, before she got like 3 other shows on the Food Network and then a talk show.
In the old episodes, she's less glam and fake, more calm. Even her outfits were much simpler, just a plain top and jeans or pants and truthfully that looked a lot better on her.

It's all Oprah's fault. Rachael was huge enough with her cooking channel shows and books but Oprah's the one who brought her to network TV. I have nothing against Oprah but I think it's crazy that once she gives her stamp of approval on something it turns to gold. I actually liked 30 Minute Meals way back when. But the daytime talk show drives me nuts. She really does act like quite the expert on everything. Her once cute sayings and mannerisms now irk me.

It's funny you say this b/c "phony" is the first thing that comes to mind when I see her on TV.
I don't know why, but it just does. I think it's because her personality is just too over the top for me. Her "happieness" just doesn't seem real.
I know that sounds mean and judgmental but it's just the way she comes across to me.
I heard (of course this was just gossip so who knows if it's really true) that she basically slept her way to the top. If it's true, that's sad.
