Re: Moms who have or plan on having 2 or more children

I would absolutely love to have more - I come from a family of 6 kids and I always loved being in a big family.

DH on the other hand, is really happy and set with his 2 - a boy and a girl. He's totally brainwashed me in a sense where there are times I do believe we are done. But there's a part of me that really wants another. And soon, because I am not a younging. Chat Icon

I also think that as time goes on and the kids get older, the easier it gets and I am enjoying having some sort of life back now that they are older and more independant. I feel selfish for saying that, but it's true.

However, there is a very real issue regarding my kidney and the surgery I had to repair it after DD was born. While my urologist said it was an 85-90% fix, a subsequent pregnancy could damage it more. There are times I am willing to take that chance, but the reality is, why mess with it when everything is already perfect as it is. Chat Icon

i went through a short phase of thinking of 3. But I also have 1 and 1. We finally decided this is best for us.

Same here. We just decided to stay with two.

This is a big struggle for us. We always wanted a couple of kids, then my pregnancy was so bad and so stressful that I really don't know if I can do it again.

But Christopher is such a wonderful boy, that I almost can't imagine not having another.

And we'd adopt, but we are not good candidates for adoption unfortunately.

We only have the 1 right now we plan to have 3. We want to see how it is to be perpetually outnumbered Chat Icon

But really, we have no real reason other than it just feels right to us.

Re: Moms who have or plan on having 2 or more children

we have 3 and let me say that going from 2 to 3 is a BIG change (or at least it was for us!). there is a big difference and I feel the same as someone else said, I feel MAXED out!!! If I was a SAHM I may feel different, but it is so expensive, and so much work that I am beginning to feel that 3 is our limit. I don;t get that little ache in my belly when I see a baby anymore, I almost feel like "been there, did that, ALL DONE"Chat Icon

I really want 2 girls but I know DH wants a boy so if and when we have another baby, if it is a girl, we MAY try for the boy but 3 is my absolute maximum

I want at least 3 kids! I would love to have 4, but i think 3 it will be (at least thats what my husband says Chat Icon)!

I am one of 5 children, so i come from a big family and i'd like my children to have that as well. Chat Icon

There are always risks with having babies and we'll take on whatever we're given. But we're certainly not going to change our plans out of fear, you know?

I always said I wanted 3 or 4 children. When we had just my 2 boys, I KNEW that we would have a 3rd baby and I knew that my 3rd would be my last (because I cannot fathom having 4 c-sections.... 3 was enough thank-you-very-much).

My family is complete now with my 2 boys and my baby girl Chat Icon

this is my situation now....would love to try for the girl! is it much harder with your 3rd? (to the OP-sorry to hijack!)

DH definitely wants two (we are blessed with one DD right now). However, if we have another DD, we might consider going for a third.

Although, I had a tough pregnancy so I have to admit, I'm a little uptight about going through that another 2XChat Icon

Re: Moms who have or plan on having 2 or more children

We alwasy wanted only two kids. I never thought we would get them with one pregnancy. One of my boys was born with a heart condition and the other had major issues when he was born, since he was the tiny twin of the two. I don't really think I can go thru that again.

I also needed surgery after having them since they ripped apart my stomach muscles so I don't think ti is ideal to get pg again.

Also - what if I had twins again????

We have a 3 bedroom house and won't be moving ever, so I want each kid to have their own room if they want.

Re: Moms who have or plan on having 2 or more children

I always wanted 4 and so did my DH, however, seeing that we are late starters - my DS was born when I was 34 - I don't think that is possible. I am also diabetic and while my pregnancy with DS was absolutely perfect, I don't want to take many chances that is always going to happen. I also saw the Dr. Phil show one of the other posters was talking about and was thinking that if I get pregnant again and it is a DD, I would probably stop b/c I would be too nervous about complications.

Re: Moms who have or plan on having 2 or more children

I never had an actual number, but I always wanted more than 2. I was 1 of 2 and always wanted more siblings. DH is 1 of 6 and although they were all from 2 separate marriages and didn't get along as nicely as many would think, he always yearned to have what he didn't have growing up. A big family, always chaos and alot of love. So now we're pregnant with #3 and we are def going for #4. If it were up to DH, we'd have 12! lol I would love to have more, but I don't think my body can handle anymore.

Re: Moms who have or plan on having 2 or more children

im on my 3rd and last. After my first i didnt want another one until my DD was 5, we waited another year and a half and got PG with my DS during my pregnancy, i thought i was totally done, until right after i had him the first thing i said was- ill do it again. As my son got to be around 9 months i went in and out of wanting another, i missed being PG and some days i was good with my 2 but a part of me knew i would go for a third. well...to my suprise i got PG with my 3rd the next month. I know for sure i dont want any more, so far this little one is healthy and we are blessed to have a beatiful family. we cant afford any more, and one day i want to sleep past 6am, and have my body back ill be doing the esure procedure as soon as possible.

Re: Moms who have or plan on having 2 or more children

Like you, I was happy with my healthy girl and healthy boy and our plan was to have 1 of each (contingency being if #2 was another girl, we'd try for #3 to be a boy).

When we were surprised with PG #3 I went through a long period of "are we pushing our luck?" We had 2 beautiful healthy kids. I was and still am afraid that having 3 puts INTO a lot of statistics.

I have 2 girls, we're done. I dont' like being pg and with that comes PPD-no thank you..

Everyone asks when we're going for the boy and it's annoying.

My family is complete, god blessed us with 2 healthy, funny, beautiful girls, i don't understand why people think we're incomplete cause i dont' have a boyChat Icon

I'm PG with #2, we are definitely done after that. I know DH would go for a third in a heartbeat, but he knows where I stand and that's not exactly something I'm "caving in" on to please the hubby, kwim?

I am an only child and LOVED every minute of it, so I never felt the burning desire for a big family. I am having a second child because I want one, not just to "give DS a sibling".

I always wanted a big family (four or more kids) but after spending time with my sister and her kids, I think I would be happy with just one more. I know I'm not done by any stretch; I need another little oneChat Icon Chat Icon
