I will not make myself feel guilty over not breastfeeding, but I will attempt to pump just to say I tried and if it doesn't work that is perfectly fine!

I will not rock to sleep after a certain age. I actually LOVED my time rocking johnny and savored it..he loved it, as did I but by a certain age it gets very hard to keep up and they need to fall asleep on their own. I am so much happier that he's out on his own now.

I will try to eliminate the night bottle much earlier but won't obsess over it..it's really not the biggest deal in my book.

And most of all, I will savor every moment...even with the hard year we've had with the EI, all the "what ifs" and times of upset I am happy that find joy in every day and see the great things he is doing. I concentrate now more than ever on enjoying the moment because the time passes WAY too fast. I can't wait for more children, Johnny has been such a happiness in our lives!

Not a whole lot really. I'm trying to buy less clothes but that's not working out so well.

LOL about the bedding. We're not using a single piece of the bedding except the sheet it came with, and that is rotated among a bunch of random sheets we bought from Target, etc. The bumper was gone by 3 months when he rolled over, the bedskirt was never used, don't get me started on the "diaper stacker"...

Aside from that, not much I would change, except that this baby is not going to get rocked to sleep until he/she is 10 months old like my first one did!!!!! That was a tough one to break!

I will...
1. Send the baby to the hospital nursery at night so I can catch some zzzzzz (when I had my DD I could opt to keep her in the room with me - boy was that a mistake - i needed to REST)

2. Try to gain less during the pregnancy and excercise more.

3. Try to worry less

4. Get them on a schedule Immediately!

Other than that DD is so good I can't really complain.

I will definitely be a more "go with the flow"... will kind of have to be with a toddler running around.

I will definitely be more patient.

I will know how to handle what my hormones throw at me.

Other than that....can't say I'd do anything different! (maybe shop less )

I will not give a binky after 1 year old.

I will not spend soo much $$ on bedding - what a waste!!!

I will get baby into a nap schedule and good napping habits right away - - I didnt with DD and she is a terrible napper even now at 2 yrs old.

I won't be pulling out any spoon and cereal before 6 months...feeding at 4 mos was a complete waste of my time and energy.

I won't stress not eating.

I will be BFing in public right away.

I held Josh a lot. I know they say you can't spoil a baby, but mine totally was. I pay the price since he never sleeps, but I don't know if I would take it back. I just held him all day long everyday for months.

When the time comes for #2, I will try to do a few things differently (but I swore there were plenty of things I wouldn't do with DS, and I did, so I never say never )


Def agree about the bedding - COMPLETE waste of $$

Would not rock to sleep as long as I did w/DS

Would implement CIO earlier than I did w/DS (we started CIO at 11 months old.. he adjusted fine after a week or so but it was torture up until then )

Will try not take next baby into our bed when sleeping issues became bad... it made it pure HELL to get DS out of our bed once he got used to it

Will get a nap schedule down pat much earlier than I did with DS -

DEF will try to enjoy the newborn/infant stage a heckuva lot more than I did with DS. I rushed those months away because he was a difficult infant and now I regret it because it was the ONLY time he wanted me to hold and cuddle him and now I miss it

Will try to take more classes with the next child so that he/she can have more interaction with other children at an earlier age. I didn't start Niko in any activities/classes until after he was a yr old and I think socially he would have benefited from it and made him more comfortable in unfamiliar settings (though he's doing great now)

But again - I never say never to any of the above

I am probably not going to have a second baby but I figured I'd chime in with my thoughts. I do not have major regrets, so not many changes.

I would have to have another scheduled C-section. I would not work right up until the day before again.

One thing that I would try very hard to do would be to preserve as many memories and take as many pictures as I did for my first one. I am not sure that is possible but I would try.

The only thing I would do differently is stockpile more breastmilk. There really isn't anything else I would change.

I will not let the next baby fall asleep with a bottle. That was a hard habit to break.

I will not let people pressure me into breastfeeding and then feel guilty because it really didn't work for me.

I will accept the help when offered. I will have another C Section and recovery takes a little while.

DH and I already agreed that he would work while I am in the hospital (DS would stay with family) and he would then take his 2 weeks off when I get home. I think that is so much better than him just sitting in the hospital with me all day when some of the time, I just wanted to sleep...When he's home to help, Im taking it!

I will use hand me downs. At first I told my sister "Oh no, I want him to have his own clothes"..that lasted maybe 2 months, LOL.
I use hand me downs and clothes from Target or Khols. They outgrow it sooo fast, I can't see spending a fortune.

The only thing that I think I would do differently if I'm ever blessed again is to not be so crazy about warming her bottles...

She spits out milk if it's cold!!!

I will not gain so much weight during my next pregnancy.

I will make sure to pump and freeze more milk.

I will not spend as much money on clothing as I have on DD.

I have no idea what I'd do differently. But DD is almost 7 months and I'm ALREADY starting to get baby fever. She's just growing up too fast for me.

I'm ready to do it all over again...:sigh:

So far DD doesn't have any habits that I feel should be changed so I'll hopefully do most things the same. But next time I won't feel guilty weaning DC from the breast and I won't be hiring this &^$#@ babysitter that I'm using now. 10 days to go...
