Carrier for Spinal muscular atrophy
My doc just called and told me this.....she didnt seem concerned but I am worried, never heard of this....she said they just started testing for it like a month ago....My dh just had his blood taken and we will know if he is a carrier in two weeks, anyone else deal with this

I have never heard of this, or anyone being tested for it. Did yoru dr just rountinely do it or was there some family history?
The more they test for, the more it makes me think they will find something with each one of us. 
I bet your DH will be fine, it sounds very rare. I never even heard of it! I don't blame you for being worried though...how can you not be with all these tests they do?

That stinks! I'm a carrier also and my doc said that they just started testing for it as well. DH was tested a few weeks ago and his test results are "normal" which means that his risk of being a carrier is 1 in 648(ish). It's not a blood test like CF where they say he is negative or positive, just a reduced risk. My doc also wasn't concerned. But it still makes you anxoius.

All this testing makes me wonder how anyone has a healthy baby if there are so many things that we could pass on/carry,etc.... It is maddening. I am sorry you have this on yoru mind now. Now I do too, we weren't even tested!
