HSG today: UPDATE 6:30PM (long)
Just need some good luck that all is OK. Its at 4pm today. Just want to get it over with. Wonder if its different after you've had a ton of stuff shoved up you over the past year (that sound horrible doesn't it :). Maybe I wont be as nervous.
Update: OK, well overall this was good. Tubes are clear (which is nice to hear since last time it came out blocked right tube, when it wasn't) and uterus looks good (still t-shaped of course) but no adhesions or scar tissue. And it didn't hurt at all.
The bad, or I should say weird thing was the doctor in radiology could not get the catheter up far enough and struggled for like 20 minutes. I almost thought I was going home without the test being done. I started to cry. I don't understand why it would not go in, he said the opening was too small. Now I've had an HSG in the past, 6 IUI's and 2 IVF transfers with the same thing going into my uterus and never once have I heard about a problem getting it in. I don't even know what that means in the big picture. I mean I kept telling him to give it a push, I honestly felt nothing. Maybe he was scared of hurting me. The only thing I can remember after my Lap/Hysto surgery the RE said they had trouble dilating my cervix, but I saw the photos of my uterus, they got in there. Should this be something I should worry about? I just feel like its one thing after another. I'm just so angry and feeling weird right now. It makes no sense.

Good luck Beth Ann!! I have had 2 hsgs and was much more relaxed for the 2nd one. It was quick and painless for me. I am praying the same is true for you!

Glad to hear everything is clear.
You might want to talk to your RE about the cervical issue....I'm not sure how much can be done besides a D&C which may weaken the cervix and cause other issues.

I am glad your tubes are clear...so sorry about all the drama!
I would call your RE and explain what happened, I would feel the same way as you!
But...be happy that your tubes are clear!!!!

If this happened to me I would probably be thinking it was the doctor's technique. Maybe he hasn't done one of these in a while or is new. I wouldn't worry since you've never had this problem before.

You should call Davis. Have him speak to the doc who did the procedure.
It sounds very strange.
