I hate mine...I got an Electrolux canister instead and LOVE it!!
I dont like having to empty the canister...the crap gets all over.  Id rather take out the bag and throw it away....then out a new clean bag in

I have a Love - Hate relationship with mine (I have the Animal/DC07).
I used to love it...it picked up everything, but within the past 6 months, I've had to take it in for repairs and replacement parts twice ($200 later) and it just doesn't work like it used to. (Mine is 5 years old now.) I should also state that I cleaned my filter and canister regularly from day one, so I know that's not the issue.
I tried my sister's, which is an 07 and it just doesn't work as well for some reason.
I'm torn on whether I should get another Dyson or if I should start looking at other manufacturers.
Let me tell you about lastchance1222's Dyson. She had the same problem so one day I told her I would look at it... That vacuum cleaner was so clogged I couldn't believe all the stuff I removed for it.
Next time go with the newer model DC24 or DC25... Made so many improvement even lastchance1222 likes it. Now all Dysons comes with a 5 year warranty.

Hi, i have the dc 17 the purple animal one and i love it for the carpet- totally mint for that; but for things like vacuuming the car it stinks.
You have the model that was designed for us in the USA and our wall to wall carpet. Not sold anywhere else just here. It has the best filtering system called the Level 3 Root Cyclone that we thought by now would be in every single Dyson sold. I never had a chance to demo this one but I hear it's very good.

I just bought the Dyson 18 Slim in April and I love it. I have a dog and a cat and boy does it pick up all the hair. It is easy to maneuver and turn. It is not that heavy either. I really love it it is worth the price.
this is the one we have - because it rolls so easily it takes some getting used to but i can do our entire apartment - 5 rooms and two bathrooms - and not have to empty it. that's with a cat that sheds enough for 5 cats.

Did you know that most Dyson owners never cleaned their pre-filters. So when was the last time your rinsed out your pre-filter?
DH cleans it out a couple of time a year. it never loses suction, but it doesn't look nice when the canister is is all yucky.

I never thought I would pay that much for a vacumm, but I have to say that the Dyson is the best one that I have ever owned. The commerical is true, it NEVER loses suction.....
funny story -
2 yrs ago my sister bought the highest recommended Hoover consumer reports recommended. it died after 1.5 yrs.
CR can be useful, but not for everything

We have a Dyson. It is the purple one. DH bought it because he thought we needed it. He LOVES it and willingly vaccuums because of it. I am not excited about it, but since he is doing the vaccuuming, I can't complain

Dyson's are the most used vacuum cleaners by men.. That's why they advertise in so many Men's Magazines.

The crap you vacuum up decomposes. And I do mean crap. And every time you turn your vacuum cleaner on the emissions are blown back into your house. And those emissions aren't clean air.

Yes...we have the Dyson pet (the purple one) and we LOVE it! With three dogs it does an amazing job at cleaning the carpets, best gift we ever got.

I need 89457 more people to answer this thread because I've needed a new vacuum FOREVERRR but I'm hesitant to drop the $$$ on a Dyson in case it turns out to be a pos like the last crappy thing that I finally threw away.. But I'm really glad this thread exists.

We have the animal, I love it. We only have throw rugs and it is amazing how much stuff the Dyson picks up.
