I am HATING the economy SO MUCH.

I just bought 1 green pepper, a package of sausage, and 2 rolls, and it cost me $9.55!!!!!!
ONE MEAL---HALF A MEAL--as we had onions & cheese & fries at home already!

I hear ya
It worries me too. The worst part of it is that I feel as though we are helpless to do anything about it. I am starting to interview for a 2nd job to try to help. My dad and I were on optimum autos trying to look at hybrid cars. Even though I did not want to get into another car until this one is paid in full, the 45 mpg is hard to resist w/ these prices

I also feel just so helpless.
I have no idea what else can be done. I am looking into second jobs too, as the cost of EVERYTHING is going up, but my pay will not be increased to reflect it...

You bring up a good point- I'm constantly trying to make the effort to get DH and I to stop ordering out and stay in and cook more but if it comes down to spending $10 to cook dinner or spending $15 to order Chinese or pizza- guess which wins? I feel like cooking ourselves no longer saves us much money.

I actually started working more hours. I work 6 days a week. I wish I could stay with DS at home but I hate giving up my income not knowing what will happen. I just don't feel "safe" the way it's going so I will keep working a bit longer until we have #2.

to us it can be cheaper to order in also- then go run into the local super market
$20 for take out
$40 for nothing at the super market
I even went back to buying lunch- $3 or $4 for a Lean Cusine- and then I would be starving- so I spend $7 on a large salad or sandwich

I agree---if we want to have sandwiches for dinner, its like $10.00 just for 2 or 3 different meats & cheese---we can get a footlong sub at Subway for $5.00.

I am worried, as well. Our grocery bill has gone up $40.00 compared to 3 years ago. It just worries me that things are going to keep on going up and our paychecks are going to stay the same.

I feel the same way!! The only thing i can't complain about is our electric bill. It used to be almost $1,000 a month- Our WHOLE house is electic, each room has its own thermostat but now we're down to around $150 and i'm  because we don't have an oil bill to worry about.

Ugh! Tell me about it! I went to the grocery store last night and got a 6-roll pack of toilet paper, 2 rolls of paper towles and a package of Kraft cheese and it was over $20!!!
