I don't think it's too early...I personally just wouldn't answer if I was sleeping. Chat Icon

Re: Is 9:30 on a saturday too early to call someone?

I don't usually call people that early even if they have small kids. Maybe if I know they are early birds. I have small kids so like 99.9% if other parents with small kids, I've up early but sometimes my DH and I trade off. I am not an early bird so I don't quite get it together right away and I'm not generally in a phone call making mood myself.

However, I'd NEVER be rude with a friend or family member who did call. Telemarketers, that's another story. OK, so she was asleep...she can call you back later. If you were calling every weekend that early and had no idea it was bothering them, I could see someone asking you to call later from now on but I wouldn't lose my mind over it.

ETA: My general rule of thumb is 10am or later. For the evening, I don't call people after 9pm unless I know them well enough to know their general schedule and know they are up and functional. But people always have the option to not answer. Who doesn't have Caller ID now anyway?

Re: Is 9:30 on a saturday too early to call someone?

I am up by 8am at the absolute LATEST.

But I don't call anyone before 11am on the weekends except my best friend because I know she is up at the same time as me. I don't take a chance with anyone else.

I do go to bed pretty early - and I have been woken up at 9:30PM by phone calls. It doesn't bother me. I mean - I don't think anyone is intentionally trying to disrupt my sleep or anything. The only time I have ever gotten annoyed is when my sister started calling me at 11pm EVERY FRIGGIN' DAY because she is a nurse and that's when she had her break. I told her once, reminded her a 2nd and 3rd time after she woke me up.. but by the 4th night IN A ROW I was a little peeved.

IMO yes it is too early. I don't care whether they have 5 kids, 4 dogs and a hamster. I would never call someone's house until at least 11. Unless i knew prior that it was ok (ex. my mother)

after 11? The day is amonst half over.Chat Icon

I guess it's because we are early risers (well, DS and I are), so you can call me at 6am and it's OK!Chat Icon

LOLOL...i will putyou down on my earlier list Chat Icon

I don't think it's too early for most people either.

Not too early around here, we are ALWAYS up and have already had breakfast and are usually dressed and almost out the door at that time!

Ahh, the joys of young children who wake up with the roosters...

Wow, so many lucky moms with babies that sleep late!!! I am sooooooooooo jealous... Jacob goes down at 9pm and is up every morn at 5:30-5:45.... so I would say 9:30 for me is just fine. I have friends that call me at 8am sometimes...guess it just depends on the household...

But this whole baby sleeping till 9-10am thing is baffling... Chat Icon !!! Chat Icon
