In our house it is a borderline time.
Usually I don't call anyone before 10:00 unless I really have to
There are some Saturday - we all sleep past 9 (like today  )
And right now - we have 2 dogs, quite honestly, my dog can sleep until 12 if we let her 
But you don't know what kind of night they had either.
Like we had a rough one - Ali was up at 4

since DD im up at 6:45-7:30 so no i dont think someone calling at 9:30 is too early...im well into my day by then now...before DD i would be just rolling my lazy but out of bed...
I call ppl from 9am on but its only a select few ppl that I would call that early because I know they are up with their kids.

I'm up at 5 am Mon-Fri and 6 am on weekends... have been for YEARS. DC's have their breakfast at 6:15
By 9:30, I'm ready for lunch and DC's are napping.
Seriously, if it was our house, if we didn't hear from you by 9:30 the day we "might" to GTG to confirm then I may have already made other plans.

even though DS gets up at 6:30ish, he goes back down for a nap around 9-9:30 and sleeps till around 10-30-11, so on weekends me and my DH go back to sleep too. I just dont answer the phone if it rings b/t those times.

Yeah, for me, I think anything b/f 10:30 is too early to call people - that is the rule I try to follow...although I am usually up with DS well before 9:30 - there are many bad nights where we don't get to sleep until really late in the am and I get so mad when someone wakes him up!
But, I have so many friends that call me at this time or earlier so I don't think its terrible that you did that at all!

Same here! We've already been to the Dr. for DS and went to breakfast..DS' appointment was at 9.
Waking time in our house (Including Sat. and Sun) is ummmm about 6-630
HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAA and as I'm typing...the phone is ringing
crap--u can call my house at 6.30 am...
I was already out by then,fed them-changed them-showered and did all the landscaping in the left side front.

IMO yes it is too early. I don't care whether they have 5 kids, 4 dogs and a hamster. I would never call someone's house until at least 11. Unless i knew prior that it was ok (ex. my mother)

If you were calling most of my friends with kids or my house, no, not too early. Although DD and I slept until 8 this morning, which is really late for us. (I have no idea why she wakes up when I do but she almost always does).
As a general rule, I don't like calling people before 10am.

Unless you have already asked them if that's an ok time to call, it's too early.
99.999999% of the time I have already been up for a few hours, but there are some times when DH takes care of DD so I can sleep in since I get up at 5am M-F. My grandmonther called at 9am last saturday and woke me up. I was NOT happy!!

Too early!
We wake up by 6am everyday even on weekends but DS will take a nap at 9:30am-10am and I or DH go back to sleep too so.... no phone calls!

I think it depends on the person - I know who I can call - and who I can't.
By 8am - Tanaholic and I have usually spoken at least two times
There are some people I know - whose kids sleep later - that I would never call before a certain time

I don't think 9 is too early at all, especially for people with kids. I am usually up, showered, along with both of my kids by 7 am. EVEN on weekends.

Me and most of the people I know with kids are up early (my kids are up between 6-7 am), so 9 am is the earliest I'd say to call someone. Whether it's a weekday or a weekend! Sunday AM I'd wait a little longer though.
Same goes for evening - I hate when people call me past 9 pm at night

I do not think 9:30 is early at all. Right now it is Sunday at 7:50am. My DS has already been up,and had his cereal and bottle. Now his is already taking his morning nap. My husband is on his way home with breakfast. Personally, we would never be able to sleep in until 9:30am with a child. Honestly even before we had our DS we were usually up by 8:30am, unless we were out the night before which then maybe we would sleep until 9:00am.

I usually wait until 10, but it depends on who it is. If they have young kids I wouldn't think 9:30 is too early. DH's sister on the other hand, calls us before 9.  That annoys me. Yes, I'm up, but not ready to talk to her yet.  I think she forgets we're on central time, 1 hour behind her. Yet, she gets pizzed if we call her too late or too early.

after 11? The day is amonst half over.
I guess it's because we are early risers (well, DS and I are), so you can call me at 6am and it's OK!
