Ok,.. Aug/Sept girls.. who hasn't done a thing?

I feel sorta dumb.

I haven't bought anything, looked for anything, thought of my registry or even bothered to ponder colors.

I'm waiting to find out boy or girl (not that it makes a difference in the color scheme my hubby and I always knew we'd have) but mostly I'm afraid to jinx myself! Chat Icon

I probably won't register until May or June (or later)

I know what room the nursey is but I've only put two boxes of books away so far.

I don't feel rushed yet.

Am I the only one?

Re: Ok,.. Aug/Sept girls.. who hasn't done a thing?

I always plan way ahead... it's just my nature... If I don't, I get super stressed later on.

so a running draft of the registry was done almost a month ago, and we already have the crib (thanks mom!) and the changing table in our place (still in boxes)

we're doing phase 1.... major spring cleaning to make room for Crouton's stuff. We did a lot of filing, purging of old clothes / shoes, and reorganized the walk-in closet. I think next weekend we may begin assembly (just to make sure nothing is damaged!)

Re: Ok,.. Aug/Sept girls.. who hasn't done a thing?

We are preparing his room
We have to repair some damage to the wall and the window guy is coming over the weekend to reseal the windows. Dh will probably at least prime the room this weekend. WE are having all new carpeting put in upstairs, so we want the room painted BEFORE we do that. Plus, once it gets hot out, we dont want to be painting upstairs

OUr registry is done and a few things have been bought. They have to get my sis here from Cali and she said she is having my niecs bday here June 6th or 7th, so I assume that is really my shower!

Our parents surpirsed us this weekend and told us that they are buying all 4 pieces of our furniture! They will be ordering it next week (I need to get my 20% off coupons over to my MIL)

HA...with #3...nothing TO DO. The nursery was done neutral with DD and we're waiting to find out the sex to see who is going to be doubling up!!!!

And for registering...it's like doing it for a wedding...do it too soon and your patterns/items run the risk of being discontinued

Re: Ok,.. Aug/Sept girls.. who hasn't done a thing?

I have to start cleaning out my spare room and move Hayley into that room. If this baby is a girl, I just have to unpack all my baby clothes...if this baby is a boy I will have a TON of stuff to do after getting Hayley's new room done.

I want to hit the halfway mark (next wednesday) and get the Level II done to find out the sex (next Thursday) before I actually start doing anything...

Painter is coming in two weeks to paint the nursery and I will probably register sometime in late May....

Re: Ok,.. Aug/Sept girls.. who hasn't done a thing?

I am compulsively organized and I like having all of my "ducks in a row" so to speak. I am due Sept. 25th (so I will be 17 weeks tomorrow) and our registry is basically finished and has been for about 2 weeks, we're painting the baby's room this weekend, we're ordering the furniture next week over spring break, and we're going to have new carpet installed as well as soon as the painting is done. As far as buying stuff myself I have been doing that for years!! Chat Icon Chat Icon I've always had a "baby box" where I kept cute things I found over the years for the day when I would have a baby. And children's books...............I have like 40,000!!! Being an elementary school teacher took care of that!! Chat Icon Chat Icon

I know I am nuts but I will feel better knowing that by the summer the room will be ready and furnished so when we have the baby shower everything can go right in and if for some reason the baby arrives early everything will be ready. And of course.........then I can relax all summer!! Chat Icon Chat Icon

I haven't done anything yet...I'm going to wait until next week when we find out the sex to shop.
I have looked online, and have written down everything I want to register for. So I have a basic idea of everything I want

Re: Ok,.. Aug/Sept girls.. who hasn't done a thing?

Half the resgistry is done

Furniture is ordered.

I am not having a shower nor do I plan on bringing anything into my home until after Ed-lie gets here so buying things are not of great urgency. We also rent our home so there is nothing major in terms of redecorating/painting/construction that we actually CAN do with the exception of a major clean up.

In mid-August, I will hire a housekeeping service to do a once-over because I will be too damn tired to do it myself.

I am end of Aug and since it's twins, my mom is planning my shower a little earlier since I will probably go earlier. That said, I need to be registered by end of next week when she mails the invites! I'm not even halfway there, it's really tough!

Re: Ok,.. Aug/Sept girls.. who hasn't done a thing?

I am 37 weeks, and still have yet to set up anything! (We have furniture, but the room is not set up at all)

I'm so bad! I think it's because this is baby #2.

I have washed all DDs clothes and have them sorted into baskets, but that's it!

Bad mommy!
