When are you installing the carseat in your car?
And are you doing it yourself or having it done somewhere?

probably a couple weeks before our due date....
we'll try to install it ourselves, but we'll have the fire dept check it out and do it the correct way......

with my daughter i had a state trooper do it in farmingdale who was certified. this time around i did it becuase he showed me how to.

I would do it at least 4 weeks before you are due. You never know, the baby might decide to come early.

We'll probably do half an attempt at installation around 36 weeks and take it to be "inspected"/re-done properly.

I had mine installed right around 32 weeks... U never know ladies!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm glad I had it done early... I delivered at the start of week 39!

Dh is a cop and will take it to his precinct. Although there are certain times the guy is in but it is worth it to have them do it. They showed them videos on car seats not installed properly and DH came home scared and said it is a must to get it done professionally.
I know police and think fireman can do it too.

We got ours done in the beginning of March by someone from the police department who is certified. He did my car and Phil's truck.

Bwhahaha.
DH installed ours while I was grabbing my bag while we were on the way to the hospital so I could be induced.
But my DH is an EMT, so he was taught how to install them, so we didn't have to take it anywhere.

DH put the base for his truck in when we were at week 36. I kept pushing him to put the other base in my car at the same time, but he kept putting it off. He kept saying, "It'll take me two sec to put it in. Relax."
Around my EDD, he got tired of me nagging him, so he finally put the base in my car and realized he had installed the truck base WRONG and he had to start all over. In the middle of winter. with a very pregnant wife standing out in the cold trying to help him.
I vote for sooner rather than later!

My carseat base is installed already. The seat itself is in his nursery. I figured seeing the base in the back of my car would gently *remind* me to drive carefully..
So far so good!

u are due the same day i was last year. I did mine at 35weeks.
I have it put in by the fire department in nc they do them there they are cerifted to do it.
I would do it early cause u never know i had dd at 38 weeks.

I delivered at 37 weeks and we didn't have it installed!  I would urge all you ladies to get it intalled by week 36 at least so that you aren't running around on the day you are supposed to leave the hospital asking how the seat gets put in!

DH did it, and did it while I was in the hospital. DH is a mechanic & he sometimes has to remove people's carseats to do work on their cars, so he had to take a class to learn how to re-install the carseats properly.
DHs cousin is a cop who ironically worked at BBB so he double checked to make sure it was installed properly.

I'm 36 weeks and it's still not in. Car is in the shop bc some azzhole side swiped our car in the parking lot while we were grocery shopping. I'm hoping we'll get it back in the next couple of days so that we can install it.
DH will install it himself.
