This might be a bit premature but...
I know when you BF it is supposed to be natural birth control but I don't trust that. You cannot take the pill when BFing right? What do you do?

you can take the "mini-pill" when BFing. I had a prescription for it, but I didn't want to go back on a hormonal BC.

You can still get pregnant while BF!
You can take a form of a pill, but it can make your milk supply low, so make sure it's in sufficiently before. Talk to your OB about your options.

I took the mini-pill while BF. It's a little less effective then regular BCP so it's important to take it the exact same time everyday. I had to set an alarm to remember.

There is a pill you can take while BFing, Ask your Dr. ...and your right, you can absolutely get preggo while BFIng.

I didn't want to take the mini-pill for the same reasons. We've been using condoms, as well.

You shouldn't trust it b/c it's an old wives tale!! My OB will not allow me to take BCP while nursing, so we use condoms.

I was on micronor (mini-pill) from 6 weeks on...I bf until 9 months and had no problems with supply...I also did not get my AF until 9 months, when I stopped bf

my cousin didn't take any BC at all after DS, she BF for a year after DS was born, never got her period and never got pregnant, so I guess it all depends.
But i'm definitly going still ask my OB what my options are at my next appointment.

I just want to say that you can ABSOLUTELY get PG while BF.
It has already happened to 3 people I know. All had kids between 11 months and 13 months apart!!

Never assume it's a natural birth control ( i really think books need to change this) I nursed for 16 mths and got my period back after 6 mths. You can take the 'mini' pill while nursing.

Thanks girls! Whew, hopefully my doctor will give me the mini pill. We don't know if we will be having a second and if we do I want to wait a few years.

I have a friend that got pregnant twice while she was BF. She was BF DC#1 and got preggo with #2 and while BF #2 got preggo with #3.

my doctor told me as long as you nurse every 3 hours you cannot get pregnant but once that changes you can get pregnant. that is why they put me on the mini pill its doesnt have all the hormones you get in a regular bc pill.

They do have pills that are ok to take while BF. But if you're not comfortable with it then go with condoms.
