Can stress delay the appearance of AF?

I'm 13DPO.

I'm fairly certain I'm not PG.

I started spotting yesterday just a tiny bit of pink/brown. I thought that meant AF was going to come full force within a few hours but it just disappeared.

Today I had a tiny bit more spotting this afternoon, but again, it's gone.

I've been an unbelievable stressball because I had to take my daughter to surgery this morning and I have some appointments next week to deal with a lump my doctor found in my boob. So I haven't really slept in 2 days.

Could that be the reason?

ABSOLUTELY!!!!

I've been 2 weeks late beofer just because of stress!!!

Have you done a PG test just in case?
If it's negatie I'd wait a week and attribute it to stress and if you still don't get AF I would call the MD!!

It can delay ovulation which in turn delays your period

My friend was a week and a half late and it came up BFN.

Yeah I did and it was BFN. I guess I'll wait a few days and try to relax a little

Stress can definitely delay AF. I was almost a week late this summer as the result of stress.

My period sorta starts like that every month.

Translation = I am always a stress ball.

Stress can have an absolute adverse effect on your body, and I read recently that it can even prevent you from ovulating one month.

I am sorry you have so much going on right now-- but, do your best to try to relax and just be calm in the stressful situations.

I think I might try mediating this month. I saw on Oprah last week that meditating for 5 mins every day can really be beneficial to your overall health and well-being.

I actually finally saw my GYN this week to discuss my concern with my irregular cycles over the past 6 months since stopping the pill and the first thing she said to me was, do not stress! She said stress is most likely why I'm ovulating late and why my cycles have been sooo long (60 days). She told me to call her if my cycles continue to stay irregular but it's so hard not to stress over it when you are ttc!!!!!!
