peanut butter??

Is it ok to have peanut butter? I'm running out of things to make for lunch and was thinking maybe a PB&J sandwich. I hear mixed things about peanut butter.

My doctor said it was fine. I've read on here that some girls are told that they shouldn't eat it if they have, or their DH/boyfriend has an allergy to it.

I eat it all the time. I have gestational diabetes and that is one of the foods that I am allowed to eat gallons of!

My doctor told me no but I read an article today that the Academy of Pediatrics now says it's ok. I think if peanut allergies run in your family you should stay away.

I have "heard" that too much could lead to a peanut allergy. Who knows.

My doctor said it's fine.

My DS is allergic to milk and eggs so I asked his allergist if I should avoid certain foods during pregnancy and he said there really is no conclusive evidence that what you eat during pregnancy has any effect on allergies. He said that the benefits of me eating dairy outweigh any possible problems with the baby anyway, but he said he might try to stay away from nuts and shellfish (my DH is allergic to shellfish). But I eat them anyway, just not all the time.

I love it!

I actually asked my Dh about the whole allergy thing and he said if you could pass on allergies based on what you eat while pregnant, than people would be allergic to everything that was eatten during pregnancy.

I felt silly at that point and said, "good thing or else my baby is going to be allergic to veggies and fruit, since I love to eat them!"

Since I started bringing my lunch to work about 2 months ago, I eat PB&J almost everyday.

I eat it all the time. Snacks, breakfast, lunch, whenever!! LOVE PB&J!

I hear ya about running out of things to bring for lunch....I was recently at my SIL's house and she had a spiral turkey...oh my god did that turkey sandwich taste good...I was thinking about going to HoneyBaked Ham and buying a sprial turkey and ham...it is a little pricey but you can freeze it....I am so sick of eating the same thing for lunch everyday.

I just bumped up the article that I posted last night where the academy of pediatrics has now changed it's viewpoint on eating certain foods while pregnant.
