Poll on different spellings of Tyler
My boyfriend really likes the name Tyler for our son. I like the name but it's a little to common for me. I have a baby book that has a bunch of different ways to spell it. I was thinking if we did go with this name I could at least change it up a bit. Please give honest opinions....if they all suck let me know that too!!

I honestly don't like any of them. I like the original spelling. The way I view it (stupid, but this is what it was like for me as my name was spelled differently), it's hard to be a child not be able to have things wtih your name on them.

I would stick with the spelling Tyler...I agree with the PP.
BTW I love this name but our Best friends had a son recently and named him Tyler so that's a no-no for us.

I'm not a fan of any of the spellings listed, but I think the ones toward the bottom of the list are better than the ones toward the top. I didn't choose any of them though.
There are several things I consider in the spelling of a name, all based on my own experience. My name is Rebecca, spelled the most common way it can be and yet people always spell it wrong. Annoying. Secondly, and this is totally frivolous but it is a consideration for me - personalized items that you can buy in the store, like those silly little signs that would say "Tyler's Room" or whatever... when you deviate from the normal spelling of a name you can't buy those things. Silly, yes but my mom is Michele with only one "l" and she has always sulked about it. This may just be a silly, girlie issue but it's how I think.

I honestly don't love any of them either...I just wanted to get some opinions. Unfortunately I can't come up with any name I love.
It's getting so frustrating for me...especially since my boyfriend can only come up with 2 names that he likes.
I never thought about personalized stuff...my name is Dawn...can't get more common than that...lol

Im a Jennifer so I know how it is with a common name. I want dc to have something a little different as well.
I think those spellings are just a little too different.. my honest opinion-if you dont love the name, dont use it...its going to be your kids name their entire life

I like Tyler spelled as is. What about the name Braden that you mentioned a few days ago? That's an awesome name and not very common.

i didn't vote for any because i honestly don't like any of them. as a teacher, i see how hard it is for kids who have "different" names. kids can be cruel 
i think tyler is great just the way it is.

It's funny because when I just opened this post and saw the names they looked VERY weird...lol. Thank you so much for giving honest opinions...I needed that. I wish I could just find something I really love...I guess I still have a little bit of time.

i think tyler is great just the way it is.
This is exactly what my boyfriend is worried about...he likes more traditional names.
