I wanted to get these cookbooks. Are you guys trying these receipes because your DC won't eat fruits and veggies? I'm just curious because I'm very lucky that my DD will eat any fruit or veggie I give her so I'm not sure I'd need to use such a book.

When Marron was on babyfood, she ate EVERYTHING!! Her favorite was peas. Now peas might as well be poison as far as she is concerned. She loves most fruits, but veggies are another story. The only ones I can get her to eat is corn and string beans (and only the canned ones)

I just got this and so far I really like the book. I was happy to see other good info in there as well rather just the recipes. There's also info on there from the Today show nutrionist, Joy, so you do get an expert's opinion as well.

I DO think it's really important to not have this replace giving your kids veggies, but even Joy specifically said that on one of her segments about this book - always give the child some veggies on their plate, but this is in addition to that.

My dd is a great eater, but she'll only eat a handful of veggies for now, so I want to try and supplement with the others a bit.

I have Deceptively Delicious and I'm not a huge fan. I spent a day making all of the purees and most of the main courses I've made have been disappointing. The mac n' cheese and the grilled cheese are good options. I also made carrot cake muffins which are loaded with dried fruit and veggies. Other than that, I haven't fallen in love with any of the recipes I've tried. Tweaking traditional recipes is easier and much tastier, imo.

Just wanted to tell you that you're not alone. MY boys were human vaccuums, seriously gobbling up anything that remotely looked like food. While other parents were ordering chicken nuggets, my boys would eat grilled salmon. They hit 15 months and have been on a hunger strike since. Chat Icon
