Custom Table ??
Has anyone ever gotten a table custom made ?? Today we went to what felt like every store on Rte 110 & realized we'll need a custom table to get what we want.
I want a 36" x 48"/54" table w/a leaf (leaf is optional). It HAS to be ALL white and we would prefer it to be made out of wood....plus 4 chairs.
I was quoted between $1700 & $2400 for all this today. Do you think that's really expensive ?? If so, know of anywhere I can find a better deal ??

I had my dining room set made - it is solid oak and he put on the finish I want. Definitely less $$$ than you found on Rt. 110. He's located in Copiague but I think he's moving to Lindenhurst (not sure if he did already). It's called Dynamic Wood Designs - sorry, I don't have the phone number available. I see a small ad in Sunday Newsday most weeks.

Thanks. I'll check them out. I was really hoping to spend less than 1,500 so I need to keep looking around. I'm going to try Horizon Dinette in Westbury tomorrow.

My table was also custom made. It's by Canadel. We needed something narrower to fit in our dining room because we also wanted to be able to fit our China Cabinet. I have a 42"W by 108"L table with 6 side chairs and 2 end/arm chairs. It's all wood and was about $4000.

I think is should be less than that. He will customize to any look you like - if you have a photo, show him and he'll tell you if he can do it. You can choose what type of wood, size, finish, etc. Good luck!

try room & board, they do custom tables and I'm sure for alot less than that. They are really good quality also.

We went to Thomasville in Coram last week and saw this dining table which we liked. They have a lot of different color wood tops available, you can change the leg type and color, the chair seat color, etc.
They have no prices on their site but this table in the 38x60 size with an 18" leaf was $1180. I asked if they charged extra to customize the colors and they said no. Also delivery he said would be no more than I think $160.? I can't remember.
The chairs, however, seemed pricey to me. The chairs in this picture cost $495 each!  I have to admit, they were really well made and heavy. But wow. That was some sticker shock there.
