Re: christening...

Julia was 2 months old when we had hers, my next baby will be around the same age. I like to get it done right away.

Re: christening...

If the baby is born in June I would like to do it before I go back to school in Sept. Hopefully late Aug. so that would be 2 months. I know people who have done it anywhere from 2 months to 1.5 years...depending

Re: christening...

My mother had all of us Christened within the first few weeks after we were born. You are supposed to do it asap. DH and I have said that when we have a baby we'd like to have the Christening within the first month.

Re: christening...

I would like to do it right away, its going to take a little bit of planning since we are going to have between 80-100 people.

Re: christening...

DD #1 was 5 months old because I was totally overwhelmed as a first time Mom and had bad Post Partum Depression. It took me a few months to get it together( we had 100 people) This time it will be small, very small if I can help it and sooner.

Re: christening...

I plan on doing the christening kind of on the early side, so possibly around 2 or 3 months old. I want to do it before the weather gets cold Chat Icon

Re: christening...

I'm planning to wait until Chat Icon is about 5 or 6 months.

I think it will be too much on us financially to have it before I go back to work, and I know this year our family has a confirmation and a communion sometime in May/June so I'm trying to avoid scheduling conflicts.

I was 4 years old when I was christened so I really don't feel any urgency to get it done while she's still a newborn.

My due date is March 4th - we are thinking of early June. Our son will be about 3 mths. We would love to do it in May but there are so many communion's this year that we had to wait. Now all we have to do is find a palce that holds over 100 people (insane - I know but we have a big family).

DS was 4 month old. He was born in February and I wanted to make sure that I was back at work, the weather was nice, etc. This time around maybe we'll do May since we'll have it in the backyard.

Re: christening...

I would say 3-4 months after the baby is born. That's what we're going to do.
