prenatal vitamin precription?
my doctor gave me a prescription for citra-natal but my insurance has it classified as a tier 3=$$$. Can you suggest a generic that your dr. suggested and you''ve been happy with. thanks

i would talk to your doctor and see what he says...cause there are so many different kinds and i know a few people who have to take specific ones for certain reasons. However im on PrimaCare One and love it

I filled the expensive prescription once and after that switched to the store brand. My Dr. said it was fine.

I've been taking Target brand prenatals, which was fine with my doc. I took them during my first pregnancy as well.

i had this problem yesterday. the one my doc prescribed was $50!
he had no idea which ones my insurance (HIP prime) covered, so i called HIP myself.
it turns out they totally cover 2 different ones, so i called my doc's office and they called in the prescription.
i would call your insurance company directly.

Does your MD give samples? My MD gave me so many samples of the prenatal I take that won't need to fill my prescription for the entire pregnancy.

i bought the Wal Mart brand b4 i saw my doctor, and he was totally ok with me continuing to take them....

My doctor gave me samples and PreNate was the one that I liked best. It did cost me $50 but it was for a 3mo prescription. I have Empire, and they will fill a 3 month prescription if the doctor writes it like that.

Before I had my 1st appointment I was using OTC vitamins I got @ CVS & my dr said they were totally fine- they started to make me nauseous, so I asked for a prescription... they're ridiculously $$$$
