How does everyone feel about iron cribs?

Are they less safe than wood cribs?

Post a picture for me to see. I never heard of a iron crib.

i personally wouldn't. once bebe starts to learn to stand up... they fall, and i have seen them hit their little faces on the wood, and i can only imagine #1 how bad that hurts, and #2 how much worse it would hurt them if it was iron.....

thats my concern too, ive been looking all over the web for reviews but cant find any. My neice chewed her wood crib while teething, im afraid my child would break a tooth on the iron

this is the one I was looking at, its also $1000, dh is all for it, if its safe, but I cant justify spending that much if I dont feel good about it

I like them but think they're very girly. I don't know my baby's sex yet, but plan to buy a more neutral crib so I can use it for Baby #2 which could be a different sex.

They are gorgeous, but my worry would be that some babies are crib chewers when teething and wood cribs (obviously) are much softer and not damage your babies mouth. They are beautiful, but they would worry me personally.

They ARE beautiful but expensive. Although, they sell them on that BRAT decor website and I believe they do sell rail guards to go on them too..

My girlfriend bought an iron crib but it was painted an antique white. She went down to the BRAT showroom in MD to pick it out. It's soo beautiful but I don't think I could ever spend the $$Chat Icon

My DH and I looked at them, but we found even the pricier iron cribs seemed kind of flimsy. BUT I should add that we weren't sure if it was just poor assembly on the stores' part. It just killed us to risk spending over 1K on a crib and potentially be disappointed after we assembled it.
