help, asap! a question about paint/stain...

Hey ladies,

We had our wood floor finished (the first coat) today. It is kinda smellly all over the house. Is it bad for me to be here? I know that some people say we shouldn't be around when painting... but i'm not sure why. I assume because of the smell. Any advice?

i had new floors put down 2 weeks ago. we kept the windows open during the day and the doors to the bedrooms shut. you should be fine as long as you're not on top of the fumes for hours on end. we put a rolled up towel at the bedroom door so the smell wouldn't come in.

I'm not sure about that one...I know my aunt was preggo when they redid her floors and she had to leave the house. I would try to go somewhere where you can't smell it. Is your Dr's still open?

I would go stay at a relatives or a friends for a night or two. My sister had no problems staying home when they did her floors. I personally would not
