I have FIOS and it is on! Right now they are showing a woman's story. What is your husband's name so I know who to look for?

My DH is Bill. Hopefully they won't show me! The day they came to the house I was a mess and I didn't think they'd be filming me!!
His is the 2nd story --- in the 2nd half of the show, but he said they already showed his face once!

If you have cablevision you don't have the channel ---- only if you have satellite or FIOS

Re: DH's show is on right now!!
I tivo'd it last night and just watched it.
First, thank god he is ok. He is an incredibly strong person. He worked really hard to get where he is today.
Second, what hospital is this so I never go there. I can understand them treating the stomach symptoms first, but once he started complaining about numbness and tingling in his legs an neurologist should have immediately been called to see him. Had they sent one maybe only a couple days earlier, he may not have become paralyzed and had to go through such a long, hard recovery.
I am glad he is ok now though!

I am glad he is ok now though! Im not sure but I think New Island- under the dr.s name it say Island hospital. I heard that is a good hospital though. I think b/c its not common they didnt pick up on those symptoms right away. It is really hard for the nurses and doctors. I think they have to rule out x and x before the big wigs are called in. thank god this neurologists knew what he was doing and recognized fast what the illness was. Very scary.

Re: DH's show is on right now!!
I DVR'd it last night and just watched. He's so lucky to be walking! Did you know him back then?
Can it just come back at any time? Or it is totally healed?
Emily looked so cute.
Has he ever had chicken parm again? I think I'd be too freaked out.

Re: DH's show is on right now!!
The hospital was New Island hospital. He was actually in the hospital for about 10 days or so I believe before he fell and they called in the neurologist.
Guillian-Barre can come back, but it is a slim chance. However, that is just the paralysis. There are a few people on the GB Forums that my DH has gone to that have had a relapse, and sometimes when his legs hurt him a lot I get worried about it. But even though the paralysis hasn't come back --- he is still in a considerable amount of pain on a daily basis. He takes medication for the nerve damage/pain --- and sees a neurologist monthly now. They do tests every 6 months to test the nerves in his feet and legs and he still has some areas where his nerves are unresponsive ---- just not so much that he can't walk.
I didn't know him back then. It was in 1995, when he was 25 years old. I did know about it though when we met, since he explained that it is much of the reason why he doesn't drive.
As far as the chicken parm, he loves chicken parm, and eats it often.
