Does this sound like a dogs name?????
I really like the name Bailey for my little girl on the way. But on quite a few occassions, when telling people in my family or friends, I have heard, "That sounds like a dogs name" Does it????

I know a lot of "Baileys" they are all dogs  But I do love the name...

i didn't answer the poll... one of our delivery drivers at the pizzeria - his daughter's name is Baylee.... Before him tho, I may have thought of it as a dogs name...

It's definitely a popular dog's name, but I wouldn't let them stop you from using it.
ETA: My parents had a boxer named Bailey.

I work in a school (I'm a speech pathologist) and I come across the name from time to time, so I don't think of it as a dog's name.

My parent's have a dog named Bailey, so honestly that is what comes to my mind when I hear the name.
But I do like it for a little girl. I think if I didn't have that association with my parent's dog I might consider it.

i think its fine for a kid! when I skated there was a little girl named Bailey, but my friends dog was also named Bailey...the name we have chosen someone said that they were thinking of naming there dog that and the other name we were thinking of a friend named their cat that...who cares if you like the name!

I love the name, it's one of my top contenders for a future girl's name.  I say, ignore the snide comments of others and go for it if you love it. It's really beautiful for a little girl--heck, I even like it for a boy!

I have a cat named Bailey (named after the liquor - he's orange and was a 21st birthday present ), but it also makes me think of Party of Five. Both male Baileys, so I don't identify it as a girls name.
But I like it for a girl.

I love the name but Bailey the cat comes to mind. However if I loved the name I would still name my kidthat name too-I named my DD Taylor and her grandpa teases she is a tailor
