DH got awful, shocking news about a coworker - UPDATE - BABY IS FOUND - see page 3
My DH came home yesterday so shaken up by this that he couldnt even talk about it for a good hour - he just kept holding our daughter and was crying. I had never seen him cry before.
One of his coworkers is a young woman who had a boy a few months after I had our daughter. They would exchange photos and talk about the babies occasionally. The woman would ask DH for advice sometimes (like - is my baby gaining too much weight, etc.) DH said she was a single mom and though her life was stressful- she seemed very competent and together.
Yesterday he's at work and he hears a terrible scream and the woman is in a back room - curled in a fetal position, screaming and kicking the walls. There is mayhem while people try and figure out what is wrong and the woman finally calms down enough to say.
"I left my baby is a bodega today- I couldnt take it anymore."
This was at 3pm - the woman had come into work at 8:30am. The police were called and she was taken out in handcuffs. They called the precinct closest to the bodega and there was no report of the baby. When DH left work, they had no idea where the baby was or what had happened to him.
I woke up at 3am last night and DH wasnt in bed. I found him in the nursery just staring at Ainsley asleep in her crib.
I just keeping praying that this baby is ok.

That's so sad. I hope she gets the help she needs, and that they find the baby.

Oh my goodness, what a horrible story. Why not leave the baby at a hospital or firehouse. I hope that baby is found safe.

Oh my Gosh!!
How horrible
I hope they find the baby and I hope she gets the help that is needed.
This really should be all over the news to try and find the baby.

what a horrible story! I really wish the woman would have thought about leaving it at a hospital instead. I pray the baby is found safe!

That is such a sad story. It sounds like the mother wasn't thinking clearly enough to take the baby to a safe place. I hope they find that baby very soon and he is in good hands.

OMG- your poor husband. I am in tears for him. I can't imagine witnessing something like that. I hope the poor baby is ok
