Airplane travel question

We've taken Lily on LOTS of plane trips (this one will be her 7th in less than a year - times that by 2 for round-trip) but next week will be our first without formula. Does anyone know if they sell whole milk in the airport? Or can I bring that through security in an insulated bag? I think they'll have it on the plane, but I'll need it before we board.

TIA. Wish us luck flying on the worst travel day (Wednesday before Thanksgiving.) Chat Icon

Re: Airplane travel question

Hi there! we're frequent flyers too!

YES, they sell milk right after you go passed security. But just so you know, my kids have never had a problem carrying their sippies through security filled with milk/water/juice. so long as I told the woman at the security gate beforehand.

Good luck!! Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Airplane travel question

I just traveled with Ella to Europe. They let you bring milk through security for the baby without a problem. I bought lunch box sized containers of milk that didn't need to be refrigerated (parmalat, etc) - it worked great. I didn't have to worry about keeping them cold and I only had to open what I needed, when I needed it.

I found them in the supermarket with the juice boxes.

Re: Airplane travel question

We travel a fair bit between the UK and the US, we go through security with no drinks and we go to a newsagent or a care and buy pints of milk. At Philly I bought the milk at a pizza place. If I can't get full fat milk, I get 2% the kid won't die if he drinks it once or twice.

Also, I have found that on planes they very often have juice boxes and snacks for kids. The first time we flew I bought tons of crap with me, I learned my lesson!!

Does parmalat taste like the milk here in the US?

yes, it IS milk. Just ultra pasteurized so it can have a shelf life without refrigeration.

Re: Airplane travel question

The times I have flowin with my children, they did not serve milk on the plane. I was able to bring it through security with no problems in either a bottle or a sippy cup.
