Dryer Question

Anyone know any reasons why a dryer would not be spinning/tumbling?

Re: Dryer Question

Motor gone bad.

Is it electric? Maybe the plug is not in a powerful enough socket (I think you need more than a standard scoket, at least on ours you do).

Re: Dryer Question

Belt broken? It's only rubber, so they do break. Motor could be shot. Does it sound like the motor is going, but nothing is moving? If so, it's probably the belt. If it's quiet, it's leaning toward being the motor.

Google.... search for something like "replacement belt for <Make><Model>". That's what I did for my dryer a few years ago.

Re: Dryer Question

What I did was call Sears - since it is a Kenmore

They gave us the address of a sears place in Riverhead that has the belt - actually a kit - wheels for the drum, the belt and something else.
