Dryer question

Wow - I really have no life.

See if you can follow this...

We just got our new dryer (yes, we got the right one) delivered yesterday. On the dial you can set it to a timed dry or an automatic dry.

The timed dry, I get. You set it for 60 minutes, it's done in 60 minutes. Not rocket science.

It's the auto dry that's bugging me. You put the wet clothes in, and set it on "More Dry" and as the time goes by and the clothes are a-drying, the dial goes to "Less Dry". Is it me, or does that seem backwards???? When you put the clothes in, they are "less dry" than at then end, when they are "more dry".

Please clear this up for me! Is it just a matter of semantics that I'm confusing?

sorry, i'm no help. i just set it to 45-60 minutes (depending on the items and size of the load)

i have the same set up... but the dial doesnt move and go from more dry to less dry as it is drying... it stays in the same place... so if you set it on more dry it shuts off automatically when all the clothes are very dry... if you set it on less dry, then it shuts off once the clothes are less dry... i use these settings instead of the timer because sometimes you dont need as long with the timer... i only use the time when i put something on air dry...

So you can use it to end a cycle and still have the clothes be a bit damp, like if you didn't want to dry them all the way?

Hmmmmm.... maybe the dial doesn't move... I'll have to investigate this further!

Thanks for the clarification - it was driving me crazy! (Yeah, I have a lot of time on my hands these days )

You have the Whirlpool Cabrio, am I right? Or the Maytag Bravos?

We have the washer and dryer...and I'll admit, that bothered me a bit as well
