The Lost Book of Nostradamus

Did anyone else see this show on the history channel the other night? It really FREAKED me out.

They found a new book of images (very symbolic) that pretty much points to the apocolypse happening in 2012 (the same year the mayans stopped counting time).

If anyone is interested, its running again on sat at 5pm on the history channel.

The world was supposed to end dozens, if not hundreds of times already.... Chat Icon

The Mayans stopped counting, mainly because they figured that it was far enough. I've read a little about them, and there wasn't any documented reason why they stopped.

I didn't see the show, but it seems weird that a Nostradomus book would predict a date. None of his other "predictions" told about the future, they were just interpreted as a prediction after the fact. He was intentionally vague, and never gave real details.

Re: The Lost Book of Nostradamus

I watched it the other night. They're saying that the illustrations are probably NOT done by Nostradamus, possibly his son. All the drawings are very symbolic and can be interpereted in many different ways.
It was a little scary how they showed when the allignment of the sun happens in 2012 and how it relates to the Mayans. That's when the Mayan calandar ends.
They are saying it might not be the end of the world, but a change in the world as we know it today. Nostradamus says that the earth will be covered in fire.

Well, that doesn't sound like a good year...Chat Icon

There are a lot of logical explanations for this. I've watched a few shows about him. I forget the details, but there are several things that correlate with Hister much more than Hitler. Almost every one of his "predictions" can be matched up with numerous activities throughout history. It's just that people and/or the media pick one story, and everyone believes that Nostradamus "predicted" that exact scenario. The debunking shows are pretty interesting and enlightening to watch. Really shines an interesting light on what he was really doing, and what he really meant. Most of what he wrote about was "current" political and religious commentary.

Re: The Lost Book of Nostradamus

yeah, these 'incidents' are things anyone who is perceptive and understands human nature could predict. They are sufficiently cryptic, and supposedly in random chronological order.

Of course another despot dictator will come... of course he'll be a tyrrant, and of course he'll kill millions... I predict it will happen again in the next thousand years.... and it will happen in.... say... BOTH asia AND africa (really a stretch there, being that each has dozens of countries, constant policial stability, and limited resources for everyone to fight over)

that's all he did. He commented and 'predicted' the prepetual fighting in southern germany (Hister region... didn't mention Hister as a person) which occurred during his life time. Not a stunning prediction, by any means

OMG, it scared the **** out of me. So, of course, I was online last night till midnight trying to find out all I can about Nostradamus and Dec. 21, 2012. I read about a polar shift or something? That scared me more. They claim NASA knows about it and is trying to keep it secret...

I know I will be sweating it out that day.. I am very gullible and I do tend to believe all I hear and read. But, honestly, I am scared...
I looked at Ava and I cried today.. Not to scare anyone, but I pictured that scenario and holding my child.... ARGH..

I hear ya. After I watched it, I googled "apocolypse" and a bunch of results had the date dec. 21st, 2012.

guess we'll have to wait & see...

Re: The Lost Book of Nostradamus

The world was supposed to end on New Year's Day in 2000... and on numerous other occasions... Why are we taking this prediction more seriously than the others? (Or were you holed up in a bomb shelter with canned food and bottled water for Y2K? Chat Icon)
