I never heard of that but then again there are a lot of myths that I never heard of. I know that they say girl's heart beats are faster.

That IS true that girls heartbeat is faster than a boy. That is not to say that if your baby had a high heartbeat that youa re DEFINITELY having a girl, there are some exceptions....but when someone REALLY does not want to know the baby's sex, they can ask NOT to get the actual heartbeat reading (the dr will just tell you that the heartbeat is within normal range) Chat Icon

My daughter was 8 13 so I hope that's not true because if she was a boy I couldn't imagine.

Re: girls weigh less?

The few times I've visited friends in the hospital after giving birth and went to the nursery to check out the babies...the girls were always bigger than the boys.

They definitely say that a higher heartbeat could mean a girl. Our first sono the baby HR was 158 and the second sono it was 167, I was convinced it was a girl. At my level II it was 140 and I found out it was a boy.

Re: girls weigh less?

I don't think gender has anything to do with birth weight. My mother had 2 girls, 3 boys and I (a girl Chat Icon ) was her biggest baby (8lb, 10oz I think)
