My Boyfriends Bday Review w/ pics
My review is a little late because I wanted to get every facet of it, and it has all been 2 weeks in the making.....
On the Friday before his 25th Birthday I took him out to dinner to Tellers in Islip. I first heard about Tellers here on LIF and we love steak so we figured why not!?
We absolutly loved the ambiance. "Tellers" hence the name is a restaurant that looks just like a bank from the outside. The downstairs is a large dining room, and the upstairs is more private for small parties and then a few intimate tables. When I called for the reservations I requested that we be put away from the crowd. We were intimately seated in a room upstairs.. The onyl negative part was you lost the "bank feel". Downstairs even had a bank vault but there was wine inside (very cool!)
The food was delicious! We shared an appetizer and a desert and then each got steak with one side. It was very yummy and we were so full at the end. The only thing I wish was different was that sides came with the steak. You had to pay for each individual side you ordered. We dont drink so that didnt add to the cost of our meal and I paid about 120 plus tip. Not bad at all--I was prepared to pay alot more.
A family was having a small dinner party next door and they became soooo loud and there kids were screaming next door that the couple next to our table was Pi$$ed and got up to complain twice. Thats maybe the only bad thing that happened and we did our best to tune them out. I was thrilled that the waiter knew it was my boyfriend's birthday so they put Happy Birthday in Chocolate on our dessert with a candle. Simple and elegant and to acknoledge his bday yet did not embarrass him or anything..
Saturday Nite: we had a party for about 25 people at a bar called Stout NYC right near Madison Sqaure Garden. We had sucha blast and this is actually where me and my bf met at a work event that our job had so it was extra special to be back in the place we first met each other.
There food is amazing, they have the BEST hamburgers, nachos, and sweet potatoe fries. It is an irish bar so they have tons of different types of beer and luckily the nite of the party MSG did NOT have anything going on so the bar was not crowded at all and the DJ played awesome music all nite.
Present Time: I got my boyfriend a new video/music ipod and also tickets to Nascar in Dover Delaware cause he is a huge car junkie. We headed out to Dover at 5am yesterday and the ride took us only 3 hrs. The weather was amazing and considering I had no clue what I was doing when I purchased the Nascar tickets I actually got us awesome seats. Altho I will never quite get the thrill of watching cars going around and around and around the entire experience was kinda cool, we ate yummy junk food all day and all the sponsors had booths set up all over so we had lots of fun b4 the race. Coming home kinda sucked b/c we got stuck in so much traffic it took almost 6 hrs!!!
Overall tho we had an amazing Birthday extravagenza--just wanted to share some pics with everyone.
