4 months and spoiled? Such a thing?

My DD is 4 months and I am the mom who holds her when I can, takes her out of her infant carrier at the store or while out.
Daddy is no help either. We are the suckers Chat Icon

I am noticing how she will not LET me do anything lately.
I put her on her tummy and put her down to play, I walk away, the crying starts.
It continues and dosent stop until I pick her up...therefore proving, there is nothing wrong..not hungry, wet or tired.

Of course I feel bad, so I pick her up!!

Its a bad CYCLE!

my dd is doing the same type of things...she cries when I leave the room but stops the moment I come back in. I do not think it is being spoiled but this is the age when the separation anxiety starts...at this point, I hold my dd all the time, whever she wants, I will worry about spoiling her later Chat Icon

Sometimes babies just need to be held. They go through more needy phases and then they'll be more indepedent, then needy again. I use a sling or my ergo carrier when DS is in need of a little more hold time. It's perfect -- I get my stuff done and he gets the touching and holding he needs.

I don't think it's spoiling at all. It's natural. IMHO, I think a baby that wants to be held and communicate with you is much healthier than a baby who just wants to be left alone.

DS is 4 months and I am noticing that when I put him down, he does cry. I usually let him cry for a bit and then he stops.

Yeah, we are having the same issue here. It actually makes me feel A LOT better that I didn't "cause" it.

I agree about it being about seperation anxiety and not about being spoiled!
